Prodad Mercalli 5 Pro Plugin works only in preview

For picture enhancement I prefer SEMW Autolevels, has (almost) no influence on preview speed.

I'll try this again but I remember to have stability issues with that PlugIn. Is there any new/actual version ?

Nicht das ich wüßte. SEMW Autolevels is after years still my favorite Picture enhancer plugin for Vegaspro. Never had any stability issues with it.

btw. Has any one running Mercalli V5 and V6 versions in the same Vegas system, or must V5 (it also uses OFX) be deinstalled in advance?

I have Mercalli V5 and V6 installed in the same Vegas system. Do you have any question, please let me know. I do everything to help you.

Thanks, yes I would like to know if you can see any better preview speed with the V6 'Picture Enhanzr' on a XAVC UHDp30 Clip compared to V5?

Thanks, but for me it does not reach the same output quality. With less effort you get better results with the 'Picture Enhanzr' that uses a little more 'logic' in the FX related to the picture content .

I have just tested my short videoclip: 4K 50p 4:2:2 200 Mbps SLOG3 10 bits with Picture Enhanzr v5 applied and I don't see slowed preview, but I had proxy file created. When I had original file without proxy file, then I had little bit slower preview even if I hadn't added Pciture Enhanzr.

I've long believed in the premise that there is no be-all-and-end-all FX for the best stabilisation result - some stabilisers provide better results for video from some sources than from others. An example, Resolve provided for me good stab results with UHD video from my Samsung S23 Ultra than with others, but Mercalli 5 SAL did better with 8K video from that same camera even after transcoding to UHD in VP - and with an almost absence of jello. The result was quite surprising.

Some 5+ years ago, the excellent Scrapyard Films YT channel did a comparison in Vegas Pro 17 between 3 versions of Mercalli 5 (SAL, FX and RT) as well as the then native VP17 stabilisation FX.:

While many years old, I think that it well demonstrates that there is no be-all-and-end-all one FX only solution to good stabilisation.

An example: take a handheld reasonably close-up shot of a flag flying in windy conditions above a building. Most stabilisers will try to stabilise the flapping flag making the end result much worse, whereas defining splines to the flagpole in Mocha Pro or even in recent Vegas Pro versions in Expert mode can define the stabilisation to the flagpole and not the flapping flag thus providing a usually great stab result.

My footage is 10bit HEVC, I see banding already in Vegas Preview window, that's were I took the picture from. Also banding is present in final render.

I'm also using UHD 10bit HEVC (from Sony A6700) and can not see any banding :

@marcinzm do you have anything with proDAD in this location?

C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 23.0\OFX Video Plug-Ins

If so, move to your desktop, restart Vegas and see if it shows as V6.

As does CMOS fixr Pro.

I assume the V6 is the one (enhanzr RT) marcimzn is showing. Or @Reyfox do you have anything different?

AFAIK there's NO M5 OFX, M5 was a plugin especially made for Vegas. The M6 OFX is an OFX FX that can be used in every NLE than can host OFX.
