QT now decides to crash VP

I've this problem where VP10 suddenly stops working and says the fault is compoundplug.dll

I took out Quicktime and the error goes away. However, I've quite a few .mov clips in Vegas. How can get QT to work or, at the least, get VP to open? I'd rather just get this fixed rather than convert the .mov(s). Thanks

Try installing this older version of Quicktime, version 7.6

It's better but still crashes on .mov import. At least it opens now.

I want to batch convert those .mov for VP but what's a high quality file type and wrapper? Right now, it's a jpeg inside a mov. Thanks

Mov is only a wrapper and can contain many codec. (post a mediainfo report of the file you want to convert)

A good start is here.

I use QuickTime alternative but have found that whenever Apple would do an update on my son's iPod there was a 50/50 chance I would not be able to import anymore. It seems Apple is trying to force people to keep updated with quick time or risk not be able to edit their files on windows.

What worked for me was uninstalling and reinstalling quick time alternative and that did the trick.

It's a jpeg inside a mov wrapper... I'm thinking avi or somesuch. I tried un/installing qt alternative...VP wouldn't open. Some free software would be nice, too.

Thanks

"It's a jpeg inside a mov wrapper..."

Could you mean MJPEG (motion JPEG) in a mov wrapper? But then, if you posted the Mediainfo report for the file as GJeffery asked, we wouldn't have to ask.

Yes...a motion jpeg in a mov container.
