Some interesting back and forth between NVIDIA and developers here: https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/drivers-591-44-broke-nvenc-getencodepresetconfig-no-longer-works/353613/6

If I'm interpreting correctly, it appears NVidia has no intention of fixing this?

ASUS Prime Z590-A Motherboard with Intel Core i7 11700 8 Core / 16 Thread 2.50GHZ, 64GB Crucial DDR4 3200 (4 x 16GB), nVidia GeForce RTX5060 8GB GDDR7, SoundBlaster X AE5 soundcard, 3 x 4TB Samsung 860 EVO SATA 3 SSD, 2 x 8TB Samsung 870 QVO SATA 3 SSD, 1 x 2TB Samsung 980 Pro NVME PICE4 SSD, 2 X WD 4 TB NVME PCIE3 SSD, 2 X Viewsonic HD monitors, LG Blu-Ray writer. Windows 11 (latest build), currently using Vegas Pro 22 latest build, and limited VP23 use to gauge performance and ease of use differences. Videos come from 2 x Sony HDR CX-405 Cameras, XAVC-S MP4 @ 50Mbps 1080P 60fps video files. (Previously: 2 x Canon HFR800 cameras, MP4 files at 1920 x 1080 60p 35Mbps).

Keep the complaints coming. They brought back 32-bit PhysX so why not this?

diamond204 wrote on 12/27/2025, 1:21 AM

That would be very sad if Nvidia drops a major render pipeline from the recent past just like that with little or no warning as well.

Seems like that thread at Nvidia went dead.....

Nvidia won't be resolving this issue since the calls VEGAS Pro 22 and prior are using are no longer supported in the new driver. This problem impacted other software like Parsec which has already released an update to support the new driver. Since VEGAS Pro 22 is still being sold MAGIX should provide an update so it supports the new Nvidia driver.

Still sold by Magix?

Yes, MAGIX Software GmbH owns VEGAS Pro. They use a dedicated website for VEGAS Pro. If you go to the MAGIX website they list VEGAS Pro as one of their products which links to the Vegas Creative Software website.

Magix/Vegas Creative Software sells only Vegaspro 23 (since it release autumn 2025), you claim that Magix still sells Vegaspro22...which isn't true AFAIK!

Also nvidia reply that they said to magix about update the sdk in 2021 because old drivers can be dangerour for keep like hacking risk. Magix not said nothing yet.

MAGIX sells Vegas Pro 23, 22, 21, 20 and 18 on the Steam store. VEGAS Pro 22 was recently sold as part of a Humble Bundle deal. Which during the time it was sold the new Nvidia drivers were released.

Steam and Humble is that Magix or just resellers?

I don't know all the various places that MAGIX sells VEGAS Pro. But on Steam and with the Humble Bundle deals they're being sold by MAGIX. It would go a long way if they would post a message as an "Important Post" in the forum about the issue along with any information on what they plan to do about it. They should also update the Nvidia driver versions supported in the system requirements anywhere they sell VEGAS Pro 22 and prior versions. Failure to provide that kind of communication is only going to lead to customer backlash over this issue which will only grow larger as more customers upgrade to the newer Nvidia drivers over time.

Put it this way: Having recently upgraded to V22, if they don't fix they will lose me as a customer.

I am already looking at better alternatives.

I don't think Magix is planning any further updates for Vegas Pro 22.

Magix has already announced that there will be no further updates for Video Pro X 16 / Video Deluxe 2025.

I think the same applies to Vegas Pro 22.

I hope they will consider updating 22 if they intend to continue to sell it while the current NVIDIA driver is 591.

LUCAS-OLIVEIRA wrote on 1/24/2026, 8:19 PM

Magix cannot ignore the problem, not everyone can/wants to use Vegas Pro 23, we need a solution for older versions.

Fix this problem, or fix all the other problems in Vegas 23 that don’t exist in the other versions.

diamond204 wrote on 1/26/2026, 12:43 AM

Since version 22 is only a year old it is a bit weak to just drop it like dead wood for this fix when Nvidia seemed to have warned its vendors that the feature was to be depreciated seemingly while v22 was the most recent product...... it should have been patched before 23 even came out.

If that is You offering to Pay for me to upgrade having JUST upgraded, then great, My problem is solved.
Fact of the matter is, when will the next issue wipe out the newest update?
Fix it, or my trust in Vegas is GONE.
rather switch to Davinci with their LIFETIME UPGRADE option.

@Sim-UK VP23 is available since Sept 25, when you upgrade after that date to VP22 instead of VP23 it's your own fault.

MikeS wrote on 1/28/2026, 5:36 AM

Although not prominent in any of their marketing material, Magix state in the EULA and the FAQs (and, I'm pretty sure, in these forums) that, with the perpetual licence, you only get bug fixes until next version is released.

Now you may disagree with that as a policy, but it isn't like they are being inconsistent here.

But to continue selling the older versions when they KNOW they are broken is morally and ethically questionable (although technically legal, I guess)

If sales of 22 stopped with the release of 23 there'd be no case for an update. However it didn't on HumbleBundle with sales until January 2026 and no statement of partial compatibility with current NVIDIA drivers.

I don't want to insinuate you're a moron, just in case you have some mental disability I am unaware of, BUT:

a) Who said I did (I didn't)

b) Sales for 22 continued well after 23 launched.

c) Other arguably better Editor programs give lifetime updates.

d) I don't expect to update my editing software every 6 months, or every year for that matter.

Shame they don't asses your cognitive capability before allowing you on this forum.

As my Mother said: If you haven't anything worthy to contribute, keep your mouth shut.

Oh Look it is Still being sold now:
