You could always download the VP16 trial version to test it out first before purchasing.

Re crashes, try j-v's suggestion about resetting in a very recent related post:

So i have a problem I really like vegas 15 but it crashes a lot... Will upgrade to 16 solve the problem? It's definitly not my pc fault, because I have Ryzen 7 2700, 32gb of ram, nvme ssd and gtx 1070.

You can try the upgrade but I think you will come back here with the same problems. Both programs works the same way but the new version has some more and newer options.
I like to know how you can be so sure that "It's definitly not my pc fault", which Vegas tests did you succeed to know this so good?

Well because it's way above recomended specs for 4k editing and sometimes it crashes on 1080p. Also Premiere pro was working perfectly.

That it works in Premier Pro is great, but your question is about Vegas Pro. Did you try the reset in VP?

That means something is not working well on your hardware, used drivers, way of working a.s.o. with Magix Vegas Pro
To get real help with VPro 15 you have to read this, handel and deliver if asked for and so not nobody from this usergroup is able to help you: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/important-information-required-to-help-you--110457/

Please refer back to my first post re j-v's suggestion. Alternatively, follow this (same) suggestion:

There's no guarantee that it will work, but its worth a try.
