is there any way at all where if u have a clip in the timeline and say u move it so it overlaps another clip that the other clip will be cut? i'm trying to find this feature if it exists so that it will speed up my workflow. ty!!
@target Hi,try turning off this feature at the bottom of the timeline
PS. there's a setting in Preferences that allows you to double click the ends to Expand the track, when you create a crossfade/transition or overlap something like this the event behind doesn't actually get cut, you just can't see it, Expand track allows you to see what has been cut/hidden & you can move the events to suit.
You can also drags the ends of the event to alter it.
@target Another way is to just put the 2 clips on separate tracks. Play of the topmost track will abruptly cut to the track below at the end of the top clip. You can trim the end of the top clip to tweak the exact cut-over point you want. Were you to drag a fade-out on the upper clip, that would work just like the cross-fade you get when they overlap on the same track.
