Upgrading from Vegas Pro 20 to Vegas Pro 365, then downgrading

Hi,

I currently have Vegas Pro 20. I would like to use the "Speech to Text" feature on a project and I'm considering upgrading to Vegas Pro 365.

Here are my questions:

1) Is the 365 version online or must it be downloaded on desktop? If it's on desktop, what happens if I cancel 365 after a few months? Will this mess up my Vegas Pro 20 version?

2) Is the 365 version installed inside my Vegas Pro 20 version, or will I have two separate icons on the Windows program menu (one for Vegas Pro 20 and one for Vegas Pro 365)?

3) If I create and edit the text to look like I want on my timeline, (i.e. having the text font set to a specific number, centered in the middle and double-lined) to replicate a slideshow; how will I be able to export the exact same text settings back into Vegas Pro 20? I assume it's done with the SRT file. But, usually, the SRT file does not keep the text size and centering into consideration.

Thanks in advance for your help,

Patrick

When you stop the permanent serial number already on your computer and enter the 365 serial number, it will activate the disabled Vegas Hub, Speech to Text, Vegas Content and other features of Vegas.

But, usually, the SRT file does not keep the text size and centering into consideration.

To do this you need to pre-create a Text&Title preset that you can select when importing SRT.

I think Vegas expects you to install with one serial number and run only the version it gives you. The actual installation files are the same. So to switch versions on a single machine, you can deactivate with one serial number and reactivate with the other. Or uninstall and reinstall.

Not sure if Vegas is designed and tested with shared workstations in mind, but there's probably another way to have both if your computer has logins set up for multiple users... login as one user, install Vegas using the regular serial number, login as a different user and install with the 365 serial number, then get different versions based on which Windows login you use. Should work in theory but I haven't tried it myself because the one machine would consume 2 license seats.
