Well, where is it? They showed it at NAB and said that it was "out". They announced it and said it would be out at the end of April. Well, I am hoping that I haven't gotten scammed by Sony again... Let me explain: I first purchased Vegas as 5.0 when I bought the HDR-FX1, they said it could import video from this camera and edit it... Well, it couldn't and instead of releasing an update you had to buy the upgrade, and this after buying Vegas 5 specifically for editing the HD footage of the HDR-FX1. I was really unhappy, to say the least. It wasn't so much about the money as it was the broken promises.
Jump to 2011... I purchased the HDR-FD10 and was told at NAB that Vegas 10 can import and edit the footage, in fact they demonstrated it on the showroom floor. So, I bought the upgrade to Vegas 10 explicitly for that purpose. Now, where is it? I fear that instead of releasing 10d they will release it as an upgrade to Vegas 11... That would destroy my faith in Sony all together. Why do I post this experience of mine? Maybe to help prevent this from happening and maybe just to get them to respond to where is 10d and why are you being silent about it now?
If anybody at Sony reads this please respond. If anybody else reads this who may be in the same boat please respond to let Sony know that we are waiting and would really appreciate a response. In business it's sometimes important to just keep people updated even if the information is bad news...
