VEGAS Pro 14 Update 6 (build 252)

VEGAS_CommunityManager wrote on 4/11/2017, 10:14 AM

Dear community,

The previous update provided several important bug fixes, but inadvertently exposed a bug that prevented certain custom render templates from working properly. This new update (build 252) fixes that bug as well as a transparency bug in the Film Effects plug-in.

You can download build 252 now: http://rdir.magix.net/?page=YX5CXRX3NIYR

Here are the patch notes for this update:

Bug fixes

  • Custom HEVC, MainConcept AVC/AAC, and ProRes render templates now work properly again
  • The Film Effects plug-in was found to expose unwanted transparency in 8-bit Pixel format mode. The plug-in now works properly and no longer introduces inadvertent transparency

As always, thank you for your valuable feedback, enthusiasm, and support for helping VEGAS Pro to continually improve!

Best regards,
Mathias

"Save as" works for me now which is all I was wishing for and just in time. Thanks, Mathias.

Both Build 244 and Build 252 crash at startup ...
Uninstall and reinstall Build 211 - Build 211 works fine with me

It supposed to the build 244 had an improvement to notify about updates, it doesn't work again...

Thank you for the update Matthias! 😃

No news yet about the NewBlue Titler disaster?

I had the same problem with the build 244. I deleted the folder %appdata%\VEGAS PRO\14.0. I believe some left over from the previous version were causing a crash. Although, this will reset your customizations.

Just curious!!! What is the issue with NewBlue Titler and Vegas 14? I am using NewBlue Titler Pro 5 Ultimate. I have not come across a problem.

The "save as/copy media with project" it is not working more for me.... :-(

Hi MathiasH. I am a new user of Magix VEGAS Pro 14 and have come from a SONY Vegas Movie Studio Platinum background. My current version of VEGAS Pro 14 is build 211. I see there has been problems with build 244 should I just download build 252 and install on top of my build 211 ?

ritsmer wrote on 4/12/2017, 2:22 AM

I would advise that you go directly to 252. Here on my machine there have not been problems with 244.

That said it is always a good idea to make a Windows system backup before any bigger update - then - if necessary - it takes only little time to make a restore.

On my machine Microsoft has recently broken the restore possibility (an issue well known on the Net - apparently it is something about the appdata directory - which also makes problems for other programs like Vegas - but as I wanted to switch forth and back between 211 and 244 to make some speed tests, there were no problems in just uninstalling 244, installing 211 - and then later just update 211 to 244 again. Worked like a charm.

Just remember to un-register your Vegas license key before uninstalling :- ))

Why unregister? I had uninstalled the first 244 to reinstall 212 and once 252 was released, simply downloaded that without even uninstalling 244 since this was an upgrade and that went without a hitch as well.

Dexcon wrote on 4/12/2017, 8:17 AM

Same here.  I went from 211 to 244, then back to 211, and then to 252 without having to un-register at any time. But of course, there was the Magix re-reg at each install.

You can manage your active usage license on magix.com account section. No need to un-register.

Why not say just "buggy" if you want to say next to nothing. Or how about nothing?

GH5 footage bug has fixed?

cadudesun wrote on 4/12/2017, 10:11 PM

I had build 211 working properly just now.

Then updated to build 252 and Vegas started crashing during the initial loading screen , when "creating video plug-in factory", as showed in this snapshot: http://i.imgur.com/kcbB11c.png

I have BCC 10 OFX installed. Then I reinstall BCC and Vegas 252 again. Even after that the same crash still happening.

Is there a "security" mode in Vegas that bypass plug-in factory?

I would like to try isolating if the problem is plug-in indeed...

Thanks

vegardbell wrote on 4/13/2017, 12:04 AM

Did anyone get a notification in Vegas that build 252 was out? I did not.

For those of you that experience problems with NewblueFX titler 3, you should download the package from here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/newblue-titler-pro-in-vegas-pro-14-updated-information--105034/

If you use the vegas 14 installer, the latest version of titler 3 will NOT be installed. Not at my computer at least.

Nice but any update for the audio section is planned?

Mackie control surface like icon qcon lite support is terrible, as i select track it highlight every track is a go thru.
please fix this issue.

drag and drop somtimes go wrong and never work again, i only get samples if i double click and drag from the trimmer.

Also the biggest missing thing is Sidechain! please make a built in sidechain tool!

thank you cheers

@cadudesun: Sorry I can not help much - but 252 with BCC 10 OFX works perfectly here.

It is a long time ago that I installed BCC 10 here - only thing i have done periodically was de-register and re-register BCC in connection with using Vegas and BCC on my laptop for lectures - so BCC has "survived" several un-installations and re-installations of Vegas pro.

Hi

Vegas Pro 14. Build 252, 64bit

Intel HEVC (*.mov)

All the 50p templates - if you change it to 25p - and render - you will get 23.976p - the Project and Preview also change to 23.976p under rendering ! Is this a bug ?

best, Ole

Confirmed. Seems to be a bug.
However there is no need to change the framerate of the default templates because of all the 50p templates there are also default 25p templates

I did not receive notifications about any new builds. I just checked and I am using 161.

Should I download 252 ? What are the steps ?
