VEGAS Pro 14 Update 6 (build 252)

yes many pro features dont exist in Vegas but also some basic stuff like proper hardware support/management. atm i can do some decent grading/masking/tracking using 3rd party like visioncolor lut plugin, mocha.redgiant ,BCC etc...ofc adding all those plugins files become extremely heavy in an already broken editor.

i hope Magix will fix those fundamental problems as i find myself editing in premiere very often :/

Build 252. Can you comment on the missing Dolby Digital Pro Render option? we need it to generate 5.1 audio for blu-rays. the Dolby Digital Studio will work for DVD's but when you try to use it DVDA it recompresses it and screws up the audio.

How can we get the Dolby Digital Pro back as a render option?
How are we so posed to render 5.1 audio for blu-rays?

Thank you

Also I'd like to find a way to generate DTS versions of 5.1 is there a plug-in that would allow that?

How do you guys find updates for this software? When SONY owned Vegas there was a "Check for Updates" section in "Help" menu. I'm getting very frustrated as I cannot find anywhere on MAGIX's site, or within the Vegas pro suite package, a place for updates.

The software doesn't notify me about updates and I have just discovered this post. Is googling through forums the only way to get updates for this program?

Exactly the same issue. I've just wasted an hour googling and following obscure forum posts just to find out if there is an update, what the features / fixes are and where to get it. This is a terrible user experience. PLEASE Magix add an "Update Available" notification and download link!! 😀

THANK YOU! You just regained some of my trust in the product. I've just installed Build 252 and now see the "Check for News..." link. That means I no longer have to use Google or trawl through the forums every couple of weeks!

I'm glad you be mentioned that. I also spent a good hour trying to find an updater or what the most current update was. MAGIX's website is terrible to navigate. Turns out there is a vegascreativesoftware.com website where the update is kept. You would think it would be on MAGIX's website as they're they maker of it now.

Hopefully theres bug fixes in 252 for the rendering crash I have. And a fix for TITLER PRO plugin which doesn't work at all without crashing. Because I spent over $500 Australian dollars for this program and I'm very unhappy with it and it's bugs. So far it's no better than pro 13 due to the fact it crashes so much. Plus MAGIX support takes over a week to respond to a help request.

Getting crash after close quite regularly. I have sent the crash log using the automated system.

No plugins involved. Render. Render OK. Close Vegas - Crash.

FYI I am a Vegas Pro user.

>Dolby Digital AC3 studio is still an available format for rendering in Vegas Pro 14.

Yes. In DVDA While DD Studio will work fine with DVD's this is a 4k world now, nobody wants them. They want Blu-ray when it comes to HD Format. DD Studio doesn't work with DVD architect when you generate a Blu-ray it will require a re-compress that ends up with only the left and right speakers working dropping audio from the center and rear speakers after many hours of re-compression (9 hours in my case).

DVDA Blu-ray will only work with Dolby Pro correctly without any re-compression or audio denigration and minimizing the amount of time required to generate the disc image.  I've tried DVDA6 and DVDA7.

The removal of DD Pro is very short sighted as MP4 doesn't really support 5.1 unilaterally.

I would even like to see DTS or even ATMOS support in Vegas Pro.

There are quite a few threads of frustrated Vegas 14 upgraders that are upset by this backwards upgrade from 13 in your support forums. Myself included.

To assume that streaming is the future is to not know the Copyrighted side of school musicals and other productions which require physical media as a means of distribution and control.  This is actually a market the Vegas Pro was perfectly positioned for.

I'm even getting request for 4K Ultra HD Disc format support. But I know that's still early.

---
I'm confused because I thought it was just a over site (bug) that would be fixed in the next update.

For now as it stands with Blu-ray if you change your VP14 project back to a VP13 project, render DD Pro 5.1 and use that in DVDA6 or DVDA7 it will not re-compress and work correctly. That was how I've solved my problem for now. But 5.1 yeilds much better audio control for school plays even when played in 2.0 so this is going to continue be a issue for me, and I'd like magix to figure out a way for all of us 5.1 generators to move forward with VP14.

Thank you.

I had to use a outside program to change the VP14 file flags to VP13. fortunately I wasn't using anything VP14 specific. I humbly request MAGIX to, make this ability to go back to VP13 a feature in the next patch of VP14 with a "Save As" option for VP13. Until they can fix this Dolby Digital Pro problem.

Is there a time limit on how long you can continue to receive updates after your purchase the software?
