VEGAS Pro 15 Update 8 (build 416) - General Discussion

fifonik wrote on 11/25/2018, 8:52 PM

Just discovered that VP15 build 8 was released last week.

For some reason there is no discussion thread for the release so I created this one.

To be honest, after "huge" change log in Update 6/7 I have not expected this update at all and I'm extremely excited and looking forward to install and check it as my last "show stopper" is finally fixed it this update. Wow!

Well, I do not usually reading the News section so yes, I missed the announcement. However, I already read that and link in the OP was exactly to this post.

Also, in the news section usually only announcements and in Video section are discussions.

Anyway, sorry for everyone who think that discussing necro-VP15 should not be here any longer :)

What was it?

The issue with NeatVideo missed frames preview when it is placed in chain before pan/crop (all projects where NeatVideo required and that were started in VP15 were on hold).

@fifonik, thanks for creating this thread. There seems to be a couple of issues being reported on the other thread under the "news" forum but probably unread by many of the users here.

Yes, I have the same feeling and I don't understand why this is not in this forum. Here is what I posted over there:

I just updated to the latest build of VP15 and may have stumbled across a bug.

I tried to selectively prerender an event using Magix AVC with VCE and that didn’t work. The project is a 4K project with XAVC-S files from my a6300. I can see the prerender is running but when finished I don’t get the bar across the selected section indicating the prerender and the playback is slow which means Vegas doesn’t read the prerendered file. It does however work with other codecs like XDCAM and even MagicYUV. Can someone else with an AMD card and VCE confirm my findings?

Can anyone confirm this?

Tried to pre-render using Magix AVC VCE and gor the same issue.

Worked fine with Magix Intermediate.

@fifonik Thanks for confirming it. Now I wonder if that happens in VP16 too.

wow thank you for this update, really apreciated.

The only part AMD VCE is still broken is that you cannot change the resolution, only use the one that comes preselected. If you check the "use project resolution" the soft bypass it and use the preselected one.

So I still need to export to handbrake and render using VCE to use manual resolutions.

But thank you for this update.

Oh... I too was not aware of the new patch for VP15. Now that I have VP16 (just got it yesterday), I'll have to look at AMD VCE .......

I added "[VP15+] Selective Prerender does not work with MAGIX AVC/AAC in VCE mode." to the known issues post. Has anyone reported it? If not, please do so via a support request, with details of GPU and its driver version. @OldSmoke @fifonik @matthias-krutz

Since VP17, Selectively Prerender works with MAGIX AVC/AAC in VCE mode. I just discovered it.

Is this now working correctly for other VP17/AMD users too? @OldSmoke? @fifonik? @supergafudo? Anyone else?

Sorry, I do not have VP17 yet so cannot check.
