Track Motion window still don't remember size and position.

.mpg file will now import AC3 but I have a problem with some files. BTW, all the .mpg here were created with the Import DVD from the deprecated feature of Vegas Pro 18 (build 334).

Some of the files have the proper length while many others have a length of 13h ish. When I drop in the timeline, the audio is there with proper length but video is 13h long. The playback is fine for the length of the audio. The remaining of the video after the audio are garbage frames, it is a repeat of the first few frames of the clip. Easy workaround is to trim the video at the audio edge. An improvement over 373 but still not there yet.

Looking at the file in Windows, it has the proper length (00:36) and VLC plays is just fine, not 13h long.

How large is this file? I see 129KB. On my computer Win10, it tells me Windows protected me from running the app. Then when I do try and run it, I get another error window saying it can not be run on my PC.

Updating from within VP18, the download is slow...really slow..... considering it's only 710MB and I have fiber optic internet speed...

But the update from within VP went smoothly and all is well.

@musko when I select Track Motion, this is what I see on my 4K monitor. No resizing needed unless I want to make it larger. And yes, if I save the project with the Track Motion window larger, it doesn't "stick" when I exit and restart VP

But I think what this is same problem, but on my monitor is Track Motion window small

Track motion starts unusably small on my 1080p display and has to be expanded each time you open Vegas.

My project is 1080P, set the pan/crop 21:9 ratio (1920x800), color grade the clip with some color corrector FX, I added beziere Mask and and it mess up the preview

I can't add motion tracking data from Motion Tracking Window (not using drag & drop):

EDIT: Fixed, just went to the folder where it has been installed opened the 700Mo file from there.

Hello, I can't Install it after getting this error. "The installation program canot update Vega Pro 18.0 if it's running."

I have crash problem when switching between applications. For example I am fixing fixes to edit..

1. From Vegas pro 18..
2. Switch to windows explorer (alt+tab). Open previously rendered video clip with Windows media player. Play, rewind etc.
3. Switch back (alt+tab) back to Vegas. --> Crash.

Happens quite often (not always) but cannot yet pinpoint exact steps. I have 3 displays with various resolutions. Vegas application remains on same display.

I found that VP18 still can not display in the preview window the Canon EOSR 4k All-i MP4 file. It is just all black even though VP16 could display the same file with just a few black frames. So I will continue to have to edit in VP16 until Magix decides to fix VP18 so it can work with modern video files and codecs. When I try and install VEGAS Pro 18 update from the forum link it first says "Microsoft Defender SmartScreen prevented an unrecognised app from starting". If I choose Run Anyway it then says "The app can't run on your PC".

Looking at the file downloaded, it's only 129k in size and is in fact a PNG file with an EXE file extension. If I change extension and view, it's an image for Percussive Instruments (see attached)

This is weird... can you try temporary stop the MS Defender Smartscreen and retry download?

Sorry, too late. Downloaded via the program (failed to install) and located the downloaded file and ran manually.

I tried just tried also installing VP18 on my laptop to see if I can edit the Canon EOSR 4k all-i mp4 file and it displays the file as a red screen in the preview window. I don't know if there is a setting that needs to be changed in VP18 or if I need a newer graphics card than my Geoforce Nvidia gtx-980 with 4GB ram on my desktop PC which has an i7 5930K cpu and 32GB ram.

From within Vegas it doesn't work. So I downloaded the version again from the "my products" page, installed it again and activated it.

EDIT: Fixed, just went to the folder where it has been installed opened the 700Mo file from there.

Curious where the internal downloader installed the exe as I couldn't find it so had to download it from the "my products" page.

Many times in my laptop, I had this issue too... My workaround that always works to me is to cancel opening last project, add any media generator, file>render as - After dialog box appear, cancel, then open last project, and proceed.

Is this workaround works for you?
