VEGAS Pro 21 Build 314 and 315 General Thread

Just in case you are not already doing this when a new build is released, check the release notes for updates in the NEWS section of the forum.  If something like the following appears:

Project versioning has been incremented. This means that you will not be able to open project files created or saved with build 300 (and later builds) with older builds of VEGAS Pro 21 or VEGAS Pro 20 or earlier

… consider whether it might be better to continue with the project in the current ‘good’ build without updating; or …

… if Vegas Pro is updated, rename the project for the new build (e.g. projectnameVP21b315.veg) so that if things go awry, you’ve still got the.veg file (e.g. projectnameVP21b208.veg) for the earlier build that you can use once Vegas Pro is rolled back to that earlier build – hopefully without incurring a whole lot of wasted time editing in the new build.

As for the current situation, please take note of the suggestions made by @NickHope and @Wolfgang S. who are trying to help you.

@joseph-desaavedra never update in the middle of a project. What you could have done though, is open a previous version of Vegas, in addition to VP21 B315. Copy the timeline and paste it in a previous version (VP20, 19) and save it. Then you can do your removal of B315 and install B208, copy/paste again.

Yeah.. a pain, but it has worked for me in the past.

Side note, I've found B315 to be working fine on my computer with the footage I edit.

"enable automatic fx window resizing" appears to be broken again. This is true of this update (315) and the previous one. It was fine before that I believe. Checking/unchecking that box "enable automatic fx window resizing" in Preferences/General does nothing. It's stuck "on", meaning they resize all the time. Cheers. Jmm in STL

Bonjour,

Cordialement,

Yohan DIDIER

1. Make sure your project settings are set to 8 bit (legacy) to keep your video brightness levels consistent from preview to render.

2. Are you exporting your jpeg by using the save snapshot button next to the preview monitor? Make sure your preview quality is set to best (full) when doing so.

Since installing the new update (315), I am having a problem with the preview screen. Every time I log in and out of the program (I use 3 screens), the preview screen shows up completely blank. I have an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 Box processor with an RX6700XT and it has never happened to me before. There's a solution?

You think i can do it without problems?

Any site to download specific versions?

Sure, you ca find all the builds here: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-where-can-i-download-vegas-pro-and-other-vegas-software--104782/

You were probably using build 208 before. If you saved projects in 315 they won't open in 208 however. I'd try to complete this project with 2 screens first and then go back.

DanRatia wrote on 6/13/2024, 12:49 PM

Tnx! Yes, it was 208 update.

JH26 wrote on 6/13/2024, 6:15 PM

Hello,
Since I installed the new update, I have had problems with the video files I capture using OBS.

If I cut these files on my timeline, there are bugs. The cut parts do not match in the pan/crop and preview window. The video sometimes returns to a previous passage, it is not synchronized...

Did you have this kind of problem too?

RogerS wrote on 6/13/2024, 9:09 PM

@JH26 Can you share the settings you used in OBS? MediaInfo would be helpful.

I've just downloaded and run the trial version of Vegas Pro 21 and added some MXF files from a Cannon XF305. On playback the sound is just hash. Can provide more data if necessary.

There's no way to say 100% for sure, as sometimes targeted release dates are missed, but typically it is towards the end of the summer between late July and late August.

Update on this 6-24-24: I launched Vegas 20 and the automatic resizing works properly on it, on the same computer. But VegasPro 21 build 315 auto resizes audio plugins no matter if that box is checked or unchecked.
