VEGAS Pro 22 Build 250 General Discussion

Comments

D-Fergg wrote on 7/13/2025, 7:19 PM

@D-Fergg  ... Agreed ... there is no native Vegas transition in Vegas Pro 22 build 250 specifically named 'Roll', but then there isn't either in Vegas Pro 21 or even Vegas Pro 16. However, there is a transition named 'Page Roll' in VP22, 21 & 16. There are 27 native Vegas transitions in VP22b250, exactly the same number as in VP21.

There is, however, a 3rd party transition named 'Roll' which is from NewBlueFX's TotalFX7 (and probably earlier versions and other packages as well) and this transition appears in my VP22 from the Plug-in Chooser under the 'NewBlue Transitions', 'OFX' and 'Third Party' tabs. In the Transitions window, the NBFX 'Roll' transition appears under the 'All Plug-ins' listing.

Thanks for the reply. You are correct. I must've had it in a previous version and just didn't realize it. You've really helped here

This does involve editing the registry so caution is needed because there is no undo in the registry.

Well, try uninstalling Vegas 22 using that app from Microsoft. After uninstalling, it is usually easy to reinstall Vegas.

Hi,

I'm working with original songs and wanted to add captions and this is a lot easier if you have a separate vocal track and using the "AI Speech to text" function, but why does it add an ending dot on each line?

I wish I knew a better way since I have the lyrics (of course).

Phew! Finally done with the subtitles. This wasn't easy.

Yeah, this is AI and at https://ditto.fm/where-sparks-begin

But the project just started: https://burnwake.com/ there's lots of stuff to do still. A humanizing phase and maybe video footage with these steps.

First question, which build?

Second question, do you give Vegas time to close all it's operations? Is Vegas installed on a SSD/NVME or mechanical hard drive?

Third question, have you tried an English installation to see if it closes properly? There have been issues in the past with French versions of Vegas Pro.

Recently purchased V22 after the license expired on V20. Now I can't open my V20 projects. I get the same screen that sent me to purchase V22. Did I just flush $200?

EricLNZ wrote on 8/19/2025, 9:22 PM

@Charles-Rose If your VP20 was a perpetual copy then it doesn't have a license that expires. Are you talking about a subscription license? If so then provided your subscription is still current you are entitled to update to VP22.

But you say you recently purchased V22. What exactly did you purchase? Perpetual or subscription?

Lastly how are you trying to open your V20 projects? Can you open VP22 to a blank project then File/Open and browse to your VP20 project? If you are trying to open by double clicking a veg file it's possibly Windows trying to open V20 instead of 22.

Perpetual subs. I was trying to open directly from the desktop. My bad. Seems to work by starting from V22. Thanks

It seems I ask this every time install a new version but how can I install V22 on a different drive? I didn't see any prompt when it was installing, it just did. Something in the registry maybe? Thanks. :)

EricLNZ wrote on 8/21/2025, 8:40 PM

@Roger_Parker I've seen comments to the effect that it's not advisable to install VP other than onto your C drive. You can have many different versions installed, as some users have. Of course that doesn't help you if your query arises from lack of drive space.

Roger_Parker wrote on 8/21/2025, 8:49 PM

Thank you @EricLNZ. I do have way too many versions installed but they're on another drive with gobs of space. I have heard too that C:\ is recommended because some of the plugins go belly up. So far, I haven't run into any problems. Anywho, I upgraded my 'C' drive when I went from W10 - W11 so I have the space but I'm still very protective of space on 'C'. Again, thank you for your insight and quick response. :)

Reyfox wrote on 8/22/2025, 6:20 AM

@Roger_Parker like you, I too am protective of the space on my C: drive. I've moved all my Downloads, Images, etc., to a much larger SSD.

Also, when I moved from Win 10 to Win 11, it helped me get rid of some of the "fat" that was on my Win 10 drive that I no longer use. I do have my Win 10 drive still connected to my PC. If I want to get something off of it, or even boot to it (F12 at startup and selecting the drive), it is still there.

I have been using Vegas Pro for many years with very few crashes. But V22 and 250 build has continual crashes. If I work too fast, it will crash. Sometimes I click and nothing happens. I have to close and reopen. It's really bad. I'd like to pinpoint something specific as too what I'm doing but it could be anything. Sometimes, I'm loading an MP4 in Project Media and it crashes. Other times I have no idea what I've done, and it crashes. I try to send a report when I can as it requests. It needs work is all I can say. I don't feel it's something I've done because I should be able work without it crashing.

Can you share what the details in the error report say? Have you tried updating GPU drivers?

I've personally found VP22 B250 quite stable where I can edit (using a lot of keyboard shortcuts to speed things up) for hours without a crash. I also do incremental saves along the way "just in case".

More details about what media is being used (MP4 is only a container and can contain anything), what created it, are you using any effects, and how long is the project.

Roger and Reyfox, I've updated my AMD drivers and I'll see how this works. I write songs and create videos for the songs and I just finished the one I was working on. This takes place every 3 or 4 months so it might be a while before I use VP 22 again. Might be another build by that time or VP 23. Thanks for the replies and help.

Every time I try to render a video, the following error appears: “The activation code is incorrect. Please make sure it has been entered correctly or contact Magix Customer Service.” The rendering process cannot continue.

I am a legitimate Magix Vegas customer with a purchased license, yet this problem still persists. This issue began after I formatted my PC. I am still using the same PC, but now Vegas Pro is unable to render any video.

I have also submitted a report regarding this issue. However, I have already been waiting for 10 days without receiving any response from your support team. I kindly request that this matter be resolved immediately, as it has significantly disrupted my work.

@Sylvester ...

This issue began after I formatted my PC.

This suggests that you've re-installed Windows and have reformatted the HDD or SSD as part of the new install process. Is this what has happened? If not, what do you mean by formatted?

After re-installing Windows, it is usually necessary to re-install all programs including Vegas Pro - especially after a reformat which effectively wipes everything from the HDD/SSD. Did you re-install Vegas Pro after the formatting? If not, try uninstalling Vegas Pro and re-installing it again.
