Video looks glitchy (nsfw)

LolaRiMax wrote on 5/13/2018, 1:38 PM

(black bars were put there on purpose, you can also slightly see the game's config in here)

I already tried to delete vegas cache and things from the temp folder and starting a new project but none of these things worked

I tried to looked for a solution on google, tried "vegas video black screen", "vegas video looks weird" and "vegas video glitch", I found these results ("Video looks weird in Sony Vegas?", "Sony Vegas Pro 12 video flickering glitch", and "Sony Vegas 13 playback and render glitch") but I couldn't find anything and none of these work since they are different issues to the ones I have. I was having a hard time describing it too and I just don't know how to solve this
I also did a search on the forum, I don't think the video format is the problem since it's mp4 and I had recorded and edited videos before on vegas, couldn't find anything else related to the issue that contained a fix

I was able to find out that the issue was vegas, not the source video, since the source video doesn't have this problem when played with VLC media player. this can only be seen while editing the project and also after rendering(finished product) and *I guess* it doesn't get better by just replaying the section that's glitchy (at least not always, I think it one time it got better but I am not sure if my eyes were lying to me or if it did get better).

Info
-I use vegas pro 15 to edit videos
-The video was recorded on obs, rendered with quicksync with a canvas and output resolution of 1280x720 (my computer is 1920x1080) and 30fps, here's my log and also my profile and my scenes
-I didn't mess with the advanced settings on obs, meaning it's Rendered by Direct3D 11, Color Format is NV12, YUV Color Space is 601, and YUV Color Range is Partial
-All files related to the project are here (NSFW)
-Source video without editing is here 1hr 30min long (NSFW)
-Rendered and cropped to glitch here (Censored by bug?) (Full glitched video will be uploaded later, less quality than cropped though)
-Project .veg file here (NSFW)
-Game is called Forbidden Love with My Wife’s Sister (In japanese, Yome no Imouto to no In'ai ~Tsuma ni Kakurete Majiwaru Otto to Gimai~)
All resources used on the project here (Yep, NSFW, wiiiii)

Hope it isn't a problem that these are 18+, I saw it was against the rules but I dunno how else can I get some help in fixing the issue and I don't think I can repeat the issue while playing another game, so hope this helps

The problem is, in fact, that Vegas doesn't like your source media. I was able to rewrap your file 2018-05-12 23-31-15.mp4 through VideoReDo Quick Stream fix and it played without error in a new Vegas Pro 14 project where your file failed on the track above.

Work through this resource.

The link didn't solve my issue, I do have quicktime installed and I guess section 5 might fix it, but I dunno which one of all of those would fix the issue

The video was encoded with Quicksync H264, 21 ICQ
The log has info on the video, the video was recorded on line 329 (there's some info on my settings though at the beginning)

I think vegas can't process quicksync encoded videos, I am going to switch to adobe then, I wish it supported quicksync (intel)

Follow these directions for OBS setting that are known to work in Vegas Pro.

If you think you need to remove the screen capture CPU load from your computer while your game is running, you could move the load to the I/O system by using a codec that compresses less or not at all, like UTVideo.

I do this on my oldest machine that can't get out of its own way, but I don't play games:

but that is not using quicksync, and is also using avi format, I can't even use avi and I don't have any video or audio encoder available

I need quicksync in order to record videos properly in high quality

"I need quicksync in order to record videos properly in high quality"

Let me assure you that a lot of high quality videos were made before Quicksync was invented. This is my last comment on this subject.

with x264 using obs, my cpu overloads. Quicksync was made by intel and increases performance on computers with intel

If I record x264 with obs, there's lag, I did tests and checked some logs. With Quicksync, cpu is fine, no rendering lag

I just upgraded to Vegas Pro 22. I am getting rendered mp4s that have glitches in them. How can I fix that? I am a UGC creator and have to have professional looking videos. I only do vertical videos and occasionally horizontal.

@Mike-Jackson Please create a new post and include details like your CPU and GPU and a screenshot of the glitches. Also what build of 22 are you using (239?) and a screenshot of your render settings.
