VP14 BUG - HDV files and projects hanging or crashing

Hi,
I have a slightly different problem capturing HDV footage from my Sony V1...
HDV Split is giving me an error I don't know how to fix:
"ERROR: HDVSPlit can't find MPEG1 audio decoder. Try to install and configure ffdshow.
Audio is turned off."
I downloaded the ffdshow but its so complicated I don't know how to get the right codec...and still can't capture.  VidCap in V12 sees my camera but won't capture the footage even though the tape is running through the camera and VidCap recognizes my cameras.  Cameras are working fine, Firewire is working, must be something I'm missing with the software.
Reinstall V12 ?
Also, I don't know how to 'search' for old forum postings like we had before in Sony website.
I just learned about the buyout...and feel pretty lost !

Thanks for the link.... I was feeling pretty lame not being able to find how to post my question, or search for answers from the archives....  This helps....still not feeling too "brilliant" with all the changes !

Update to my capturing dilemma.....
Opened my V10 and I could capture my footage.  HDVSplit won't work, V12 won't work....
At least I can get on with my project and will reinstall V12 and see if that gets right again.

For me, this bug is now fixed in VP14 build 201. I can now open my long HDV files that were captured with Vidcap, and they open fast. Thanks! 👍
