@Blaque you did not mention whether you've deleted the files?

Yeah, I was in the correct folder as I had previously unfidden my system folders. I did delete the files within every folder that had the word "cache" in the folder name, which was several. Thanks for you attention to this matter and thanks in advance once again for any fixes on this...

I just installed the latest build of AIA. In entering in my ideas, I specifically included Polish voice over. The story (VO text) was in Polish, but the way the Polish words were spoken was in phonetic English.

One thing for sure, reading the text in Polish and hearing the VO, it was hilarious, but sadly, the wrong way to say the words.

Any chance of getting it done in a foreign language?

I've added some system info to my signature, and use the most updated version of Chrome: Version 131.0.6778.86 (Official Build) (64-bit).

I'll give a VP reset a try if nothing else works and after I take a screenshot of my customized tool bars, layouts and tabs placed exactly where I wanted them... Thanks for the suggestion on this @Reyfox its appreciated

@Blaque, could you please post the contents of the latest AI Assistant log file (different from the Inference Server log files), located in the folder "C:\Temp\ChatEDT.Debug". A log file is supposed to be created for each session of the AI Assistant window, and will have a name like "chatedt.log4net.20241125-193711.log", where the italics portion will represent the date and time when that was created. Inside such a file, you will entries such as the following attached image.

Please also make sure that you are logged into to the VEGAS Hub and can access it before opening the AI Assistant window.

Honestly, why on earth would I support the idea that AI will eventually simply replace my whole job and even help it /you doing just that? Why would I want to replace my technical, esthetic and creative decisions with those of a machine? I don't care at all about the time it will save me, or the amount of work. Bercause the time and amount of work is what I spend to make a living.
No practical or zeitgeist or "you can't stop this" argument will change the fact that this development will make us all oblivious.I simply don't understand why anyone would want that or how you possibly cannot be aware of this.

@Mindmatter it's a tool. Right now, it can't replace you.... yet. If you felt strongly that way, why upgrade software? Why buy plugins? Why upgrade hardware? To help with "time". Everyone is looking for an 'easier' way to do something. That does not mean you have to take that route. It's a choice. Computational photography has been hotly debated, but it still marches on. And the next gen of editors are embracing AI. It's everywhere, starting with your cellphone.

Will it make us all useless? In time, maybe.

I presume that deep down, you pretty much know where this is going. Using tools to help or ease your workflow is not the same as having the tools take over every single aspect of your job. It's hardly a matter of "maybe".

In about roughly 5 years ( more or rather much less ), people will throw their 2 hours of rough footage into their AI workstation, prompt what they need and go have a coffee. The results and expectations will be so preformatted to a number of AI researched preferred styles that they will be generally accepted as run of the mill fast food type formats. You see the same thing happening in music. Being a composer next to my video production, I sometimes have to resort to royalty free music when there's no budget for dedicated scoring. The generic stupidity of the offered styles and tracks is mindboggling, resulting in thousands of tracks sounding exactly the same. ( "corporate", "energetic", "inspiring", "playful", "emotional"...), and I hear them all over the place. It will be the same in video. With AI generated preformatted music to go with it.
Now, you can of course welcome this, depending on your personal philosophical or spiritual standpoint and values or cultural / political analysis, find arguments to defend, explain, welcome it or accept it in silent resignation in case you deem it unstoppable. I just personally do not and won't, as IMHO it will deeply affect the development of human creativity, mental health and evolution. Creativity and creative agency is one of the deepest and most valuable inherent human abilities and qualities, and leaving it to a machine that merely imitates it, even though with ultra sophisticated computational emulation and complexity that may seem indistinguishable at first sight, is the suicide of the human soul. It will eventually take a hard crash landing on a collective level to realize it and turn things back around, as it happens when people see that things have been going down the wrong track when the initial euphoria fades. But that's just my 2c.

I am not in disagreement with you in a lot of what you have written. But from what I can see, the handwriting is on the wall. Each successive generation will grow up with it and not know anything else. I've been around for a long time and have seen a lot of changes happen. And I have heard talk about the "good old days when we...", but that has not stopped "progress" at all.

And I've started reading users wanting a "one button" to do something. I looked at the AI Assistant and found it interesting. No, it can not replace "me" for creativity or story telling, but I can see it's usefulness too as it gets better. I do my own editing. I like the thought process of seeing things come together.

I don't think the advent of electronic calculators (I had a Bomar Brain when it was released) have stifled the advancement of mathematics and science, but has helped them. The same with computers and robotics in a lot of areas. To me, AI is a tool that I can choose to use or not in my life. It can be a time saver or I can manually manipulate each frame myself. I personally would rather have AI Smart Mask improve where it can do it all instead of me helping it along.

The wonderful thing is, we have options.

Mindmatter wrote on 12/9/2024, 8:07 AM

Finished a project using AIA as a template. I used the voice over, but the way Zakopane was pronounced was wrong. I used Speech to Text to be able to copy the text from AIA, and opened Text to Speech and pasted the text. Then I typed out how Zakopane (as close I could get it) is supposed to sound phonetically.

The music was replaced with Smartsound (love this program) and a song from the Hub, and did keep some of the stock footage.

I month previously, I had fluid removed from my knee and fluid replaced. I was stuck at home for a month. No bike riding, walking, all the things I normally do. And then, off to a town in the mountains. I was exhausted going up part of one of the mountains, going into town, etc.. Everything is a hill. So don't be too critically harsh please!

You asked for experience of using the AI Assistant so here is mine.

I make YouTube and Facebook videos for a canal restoration trust here in the UK. It is time to produce our annual highlights of the year video so I thought I would enlist some AI help.

So, I asked MS Copilot, Chat GPT (free versions) and Vegas AI Assistant if they could help.

“I need a 30 minute video to summarise the highlights of the year 2024 for the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust. Use the website www.lhcrt.org.uk for content. I need an informative voiceover to include the main achievements this year and a look forward to the next year. Focus on the voiceover, I will find pictures to suit.”

One website may not be much to go on but I don’t know what else I can offer. I don’t know what to expect. I don’t know what AI is capable of so let’s see.

ChatGPT and Copilot both had a reasonable effort for a first attempt. Both found several different, but not all, key events in the news pages and wrote a fair summary. Much of the voiceover was a sort of generic padding but it’s a start.

AI Assistant was no help at all, just a basic list of generic headings with no content.

So I asked AIA to include more detail in the voiceover. It did this but now it’s started to make stuff up!

In the third version it asked for access to actual video footage so I made this available on Google Drive.

While it said “I've taken a look at the source videos in the Google Drive folder, and I'm excited to start working on your project.” It clearly had not looked at it, for one thing it’s reply was almost instantaneous and the script no better.

I challenged AIA on its failings:

Me:

It is clear that while I have given you the website address to analyse for content you have not looked at it. I tested ChatGPT and Copilot with the same task and both produced a script including some but not all of the notable events from this year. When I asked you for more detail in the voiceover you included for instance "Looking ahead to 2025, we're excited to announce plans for a new visitor center and boat yard. " which is simply not true!

AIA:

“I apologize for my mistake. You are correct that I did not thoroughly analyze the website address provided, and as a result, I was unable to accurately summarize the notable events from 2024.

I also apologize for including fictional information in the script, such as the plans for a new visitor center and boat yard. This was an error on my part and I should have stuck to verifiable facts.

I appreciate your feedback and I will make sure to be more thorough and accurate in my analysis going forward. If you would like to give me another chance, I would be happy to try again and provide a revised script that accurately summarizes the notable events from 2024 for the Lichfield and Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to make it right.”

Disappointing to say the least! Clearly not suitable for what I want to do.
I'll make the transcripts available if anyone is interested.

Hi.

  • 2. Versuch Anfrage in english gestellt.
