Wow, we are a bunch of old farts with gray hair, beards and glasses. If I was SCS I'd be worried that most of the Vegas user base is about to croak.

well, most recent pic I could find was our christmas card. :D You don't get many shots of yourself when you're the one behind the camera!

i'm the one on the far right.

Now, if Sony would just supply prostate pillows with its software . . .

You can buy them in the SCS online store, they'll even personalize it with BIG letters so you can read it.

CAN SOMEBODY HELP ME OUT HERE?

How? Type a LEFT BRACKET, then "IMG=", then the normal url for your pic, THEN RIGHT BRACKET

I feel vastly outnumbered by you "oldies"... perhaps I should be bebopping my way on over to the infinitely more cool crowd of Final Cut editors.... :)

Great idea, John.

Here's the best I can do on short notice.

We old guys don't get the camera pointed our way very often.

Razz, if you use the term 'bebopping', then I think you're in the right place here.

what i want to know is what's with the bloody beards everywhere!?

my excuse is i'm lazy, and shaving seems to be such a pointless effort.... (and has done for over 20 years)

what's yours?

I'm cursed with very delicate chin skin and a very tough beard. A razor blade simply scrapes my skin off without cutting the hair. An electric razor isn't any better. It ends up plucking the hair out so hard it tears the skin too. I gave up even trying to shave around 17 or so.

I'm sorry jrazz, you've got that wrong - we've been cool since decades before FCP was conceived ...

I've had a beard since I could grow one. The only time it got shaved off was decade ago when helping a neighbour spray paint a ceiling it become saturated with blue paint.

Now I'm a little miffed, no one noticed I was wearing my Vegas tee shirt, sigh. Put it on just for the occasion.

Bob.

Sorry Bob, but

a) I didn't know there was such a thing as a Vegas tee shirt, and
b) What was on the tee shirt to say it was what it was?
Grazie wrote on 2/7/2010, 3:21 AM
Actually, Pete, it is the remains of the Paint he got doused in! Couldn't be arsed to clean it off. Either that, or the "Swirl" Fx in Vegas . . .

My good lady (of 40 years on the 28th of this month) is the one on the left.

Did you try using pre shaving powder?? I had the same problem until I used that.

I wondered how long it would take until someone posted a "humorous" photo that wasn't them. Thanks, Jay. (Although maybe that really is you.) God, I hate clowns and mimes. (Steve Jobs gig as a teenager was a mime in an amusement park.)"-----

You have seen mimes until you have visited a Latin City. These dudes will literally chase you down the street harassing you until you give them some money. It's crazy. I get a kick out of watching people deal with them.

Dgates: Yes you look like Brad. I thought you posted a funny pic of him at first glance..... you make money doing one of those celeb impersonations. hahaha

Now after seeing everyone here I feel rather out of places. Thanks for not always making me feel like the spring chick all. haha. At least I have the beard to blend in. hahahaha

peace,

Joshua

No Julie, you're not.
Serena and Eileen (teaktart) are the only two that I'm aware of who post here on a fairly regular basis.
At the Vegas party at NAB about 5 years ago, I did meet several women who were Vegas users but I guess most are lurkers, not posters.

Mike
p.s. Bob (farss), as I recall, that's the NAB when you got that shirt.
My wife threw mine out last year :-(

There are several women, i'm guessing, posting in the Vegas Movie Studio forum as well.

Well, I don’t have any online pics of me but I look like most of you. Grey/invisible hair, beard, glasses.
I do kinda look like Radar O’reilly from M.A.S.H.
It’s funny, you can always spot a camera crew, seems like we always wear shorts, t-shirt and ball cap.
I didn’t realize that editors all look alike, with the exception of Serena, Eileen and Julie that is. JM
