@rgr, yes I tried it. Same results as with 23.9.2. It is problematic with color shifting in Vegas preview window. I went back to, for me at least, extremely reliable with zero issues, 22.5.1
Does anyone have a link for the 22.5.1 driver version? I looked on the AMD website and could only find drivers back to 23.2.1. This if for a W11 application and an RX 6700xt GPU.
Some have add success with 23.7.1 (or 2?). You are welcome to try as new drivers are released. If they don't work, from within AMD Software Adrenalin by clicking on the little "cog wheel" in the upper right corner, System and look down a bit,
I always provide screen shots with the bug report too
Oh, I see there is a new update driver. I'll try it tomorrow and report back.
Wellllllll.........that didn't help much. Installed version 22.5.1 and now Vegas won't even open. When I try to open the Adrenalin software I'm presented with an error screen that tells me this software is not compatable with the installed graphics card which is the RX 6700XT. I am pointed to a website to install AMD's Compatability Tool and when I install it I get the Adrenalin software to pop up, but no where on it can I find what version of the driver is on my machine. From what I understand from this thread I should have the correct software installed.
Oh and btw, I need to have Adrenalin because the video that I'm editing is recorded gameplay off my PC. So the pro version of the driver will not work for me.
I've been using the 22.5.1 for over a year. And it was released after the 6700 series were made available a year before. What I usually do is use the AMD Cleanup tool, which removes drivers from within Safe Mode (much like DDU does), and then install the new driver. Otherwise, there can be issues.
I just installed the "latest and greatest" AMD driver, 23.10.1.
Screen shot explains better than words why I am going back to 22.5.1. If I drag any media asset to the timeline, you see the color of it. But once I add any effect, the color goes back to the way it should be, the effects (I've tried Boris FX Continuum 2023.5 and Vegas supplied effects) work correctly. But once I delete any of the effects, the weird colors of the clips returns making this driver unusable for me.
I will send the appropriate bug report to AMD from within the Adrenalin software.
AMD has released 11.3.1. I've tried it with Vegas Post 21 B187. The driver works fine except when going to Vegas Effects. The "red/blue" color issue is present in VE but not in VP.

This was listed as a known issue with this update. We have informed FXhome of the problem with VEffects
I have the latest AMD drivers and with the new update Vegas doesn't recognise my graphics card. On top of that I cannot make edits in the preview for things like picture-in-picture which I could do fine before the last update. Anyone know of a solution?
...yeah... go back to the driver that worked for you before.
Not having any clue of which graphics card you have, what are the settings in Preferences, what CPU you have, what OS are you using and which version and build of Vegas Pro.

Thank you for the reply. I have an Raedon Rx 6800M. I think I was a few updates behind when it was working fine, but I have tried that and it doesn't work now. I have updates to the latest version on Adrenalin now 23.11.1 and still no luck. The only way I have managed to get it to recognise my card has been by using the graphics settings in windows and forcing it to use my graphics card. This doesn't fix the preview editing of picture-in-picture which is an important feature I urgently need fixed.
Understood. I am not familiar with the mobile Radeon graphics. But when you uninstalled, did you do it in safe mode? Otherwise, the driver might not fully install. I would install a driver over another driver. It worked out ok for a bit, then everything went bad. Using the AMD cleanup utility uninstalled all of the drivers, so I can install a working driver.
For me on the RX 6700XT, 23.11.1 is working. Others have mentioned 23.7.2, and I always have my fallback, 22.5.1, which has always worked.

Thank you for the clarity. I did go into safe mode with AMD utility tool and started with 22.5.1 tried that it didn't work. Then removed that and tried 23.7.2 again didn't work and have finally tried the latest 23.11.1 and it still doesn't work. No idea how things can go so pear shaped with just one update.
@Jenny-Smith, yes you can go back to B108. Go to this POST and scroll down to #7. You can download B108. But don't think because you are using AMD is a reason for issues with B187, users of other hardware such as Nvidia and Intel also have reported issues.
If after you install B108 and your AMD graphics appear, please post.
Also, increasing the amount of RAM for Dynamic RAM will not help your graphics card. What I don't know is how much RAM is allocated specifically for your integrated GPU. With Vegas Pro, you need at least 4GB specifically for the GPU. The way for you to see how much RAM your 6800M is using, right mouse click on your desktop and select "AMD Software Adrenalin Edition". In the upper right corner, you will see a "cog wheel". Click on that. Then you will know how much video ram is allocated by default for your GPU.
@Jenny-Smith and that points to the probable cause of your problems. Note, I say "probable". You have both APU with only 512MB of RAM (not enough) and discrete GPU with plenty of RAM. And this is where you will have to do some searching. How to set the 6800M as the GPU that is used and not the APU.
BUT.... if when you install B108, the 6800M shows up, then there is an issue with B187 sniffing out AMD GPU's in laptops.
I don't know if this video will help, but you can check to see if your settings match what is shown.
