Hi again! I deleted the latest driver and installed the 22.5.1 driver. This resulted in Title Studio text now being clearly visible when applied to an empty event in Vegas 21. Great!
Thank you for your report! And that everything has gotten a lot better. All drivers after 22.5.1 giving problems hope that AMD will do something about it in the future.
Yes, it's quite surprising to me that newer drivers can be worse.
I keep working drivers until I know for sure that the new one works. But then, what specifically do the new drivers bring to the "table" that I need if I am not having any issues?
@Martin L, I didn't know (or read) that you had an old version of Boris TS. I have right now Continuum Complete 2023.5, and for the title to be seen in Vegas preview, Composite>Apply Mode has to be Normal. Sometimes, I'll add TS to a Media Generator Solid Color, Black, and change the value of everything to "0", over the video. And NBFX TP works fine. Just that you can not play back within the NB window. You can scrub through the video though with the the title on it.
I probably didn't write that, my fault.
If TS will work now and I will be happy with it I'll probably save up to upgrade. Let's see. Depending on how my slowed down video business will go during the coming months. The pandemic has changed a lot here, clients are hesitant to pay for professional videos now. Many companies try to film themselves with their iPhones and cheap editing software and have a guy in-house to do their videos. I hope the demand for quality will come back soon.
Case update: I got a beta version of NB Titler from NewBlue support two months ago and tried it out. It didn't work, though I cleaned the registry from previous installs according to instructions. However, now I tried it again with the 22.1.5 driver, since Boris TS was cured with it. And now NB Titler works too!
Actually, the Library tab seems a little shaky and it hesitates a few seconds to load, but before the 22.1.5 driver it crashed the program. Now it opens and works - after about 10 seconds.
@Martin L 22.5.1 works with everything I have. TP7 loading the Library always takes a moment. But then, that is also the place where it would crash on me. NBFX sent me the Beta for TotalFX 360 (I have TotalFX7) to test with the later AMD drivers. It did work, but it seems drivers are updated so often now, it takes time to uninstall/reinstall and test to see if everything is working. So, unless there is a specific reason for upgrading, I stay put.

I just tried 23.8.2.... disaster. Some of the MOV thumbnails show green, along with the video. I will try again on my Win10 to see if there is any better response. Quickly uninstalled and put back 22.5.1.
I'm using the Pro driver 23.Q3 released July 27th this year. But you won't find it on the web. I had the 22.Q4 installed and the AMD software offered to update it to 23.Q3. Go figure. It works, what else can I say?
I use Boris, but mostly just the filters and transitions. VEGAS crashing no more often than it did with 22.x

I was able to download it, thank you! It fixed the issue with the mask outline not showing.

Can this driver use for standard cards like the RX 500 series ?
The RX500 series is not listed. But, you can download it from HERE and give it a try. Make sure you uninstall your current driver with DDU first. If it doesn't work out for you (I am back to using 22.5.1 after the failure of 23.8.2), use DDU to uninstall, then reinstall a RX500 series driver.
Thanks I see it , I have one RX 570 and one RX 580 I stay with 22.5.1, the strange thing is when you search for drivers on the AMD website for this card you also get the pro driver 22.Q4

Thank you for pointing this out. I have now also updated to 23.Q3
I just tried 23.Q3 myself and it installs fine and looks better than 23.7.2 when I do multicam on my win11 6900xt machine. 23.Q3 is not listed as recommended or supported by Amd for any of my gpus, but it cured a blinking of the preview screen in Vegas 21 multicam edit mode with 4 cameras displayed. That was a serious problem for me because the blinking is indistinguishable from a media glitch until I stop and replay. The primary media used in this project is Canon xf305 50mbps XDCAM HD422 footage with 3 other hd avc cameras.
After installing 22.Q3 I'm still getting a little blinking, but only of the preview status line. But at least I can turn off the preview status line and not see it. Before I installed 23.Q3 I tried every driver all the way back to 22.5.1 and every Vegas setting I could think of and nothing cured either blinking except moving my hdmi from Amd to Intel Arc. Even pasted the multicam project back into vp19 and vp20...no difference. Futzed with all the Windows and Amd driver settings too... nothing there made any difference either. Never used to happen before with similar projects so I'm thinking it's Windows related.
What I am seeing with 23.9.1 is that many of the MOV thumbnails in the Project Media are green. And the videos are green on the timeline. The thumbnails that do display properly, do play back on the timeline and there is no Also, neither NewBlue FX Titler Pro 7 or Titler Live 5 will load up.
As for 22.5.1, for me, it just works. Everything works as it should. I don't know what improvement differences there are between 22.5.1 and 23.7.2, but I would like to know.
@RogerS, yes, sent off bug reports from within Adrenalin software for all the above issues with 23.9.1.
Off to test the "pro" 23.q3 to see if that is any better.....
Just switched back to 23.7.2... 23.Q3 annoyed me by tossing my profile on every reboot. I'll just have to live with my hdmi going to an Intel gpu till someone fixes the Vegas preview flicker.
Btw, the Amd bug report link is right in the driver app:
@Howard-Vigorita I've been using the bug report link and also posting in the AMD forum.
I am using the display port for the 4K monitor and HDMI for the 1080HD monitor, and there hasn't been any flicker that I've noticed. I'll use the 1080 for full screen preview.
I uninstalled 23.q3 and have gone back to 22.5.1, which for me, has been rock steady. I don't seem to be missing anything specifically, and haven't done testing to see if there is any improvements in speed, but I would hazard to guess, any improvement would be nominal.
@Reyfox My kvm only takes hdmi connections so the display ports are wasted on me. Through the Intel Arc hdmi, Vegas preview is rock-solid steady. I'll probably have to throw an a380 into my Xeon so I can have consistent drivers and presentation when the kvm switches between systems. Maybe my monitor also has something to do with it... I love the BenQ for grading but it does not support Amd's FreeSync.
@Howard-Vigorita my LG 4K supports FreeSync, but I do not have it enabled. It's an option. Right now, everything is working as it should, so I am content with "old" drivers and no FreeSync.
I haven't used KVM in a long time. But at the time, it was a necessity and was a cost saving device.
