RE: Correct workflow to use video proxy generated by ffmpeg
Since frame boundaries can be of critical importance in the multicam work I do, I distrust using a 24p proxy when my footage is always 30p or 60p. I prefer to make proxies that are an even division of the footage frame-rate... 1/2 ntsc works quite

    RE: ryzen 9 5900x vs ryzen 9 9950x
@RogerS I'm confused now. After reading all the advantages of filming in 10 bit 422, do you mean you don't recommend it if a PC isn't up to it or do you not recommend it in general? If most GPUs can't decode it, and mine is older generation and

RE: Speculating on the Next VEGAS Pro Version - What are Your Expectations
I don't feel the UI is outdated or not sleek enough, there is nothing in the UI that ever got in my way. Having said that, I've been repeatedly bringing up the bad visibility of muted events, and why they are not just clearly greyed out entirely. so

    RE: Multicam Workflow Question
You can cut spaces as needed, and with Ripple turned on everything moves together. (just make sure if you want other audio tracks to move, that any cuts affect events on all the tracks, not just the MC video track) @RedRob-CandlelightProdctns, this

    RE: Multicam Workflow Question
This is unbelievable. I posted about this very issue back in 2012. Just reread the whole thread: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/how-to-make-edits-in-multicamera-shoot--91626/?page=1 I understand now that edits have to be made after

RE: Pixelated frames appear in render between events
@dxdy Thought your description of that old thread sounded familiar: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/voukoder-render-has-pixleated-frames-around-some-event-transitions--129720/#ca806494 It's never been fixed in Vegas, far as I know. I

RE: VEGAS Pro 20 Build 411 General Thread
AMD has similar limitations. Why is a great question for them. The real question in my mind is why Intel added 4:2:2 hardware decoding at a time when all currently made camera sensors only capture 4:2:0. Those cameras that write 4:2:2 formats to

RE: VEGAS Pro 20 Build 326 General Thread
Hi. I noticed that in the last version of Vegas Pro 20 (build 326) something is wrong in multicam, when I want to switch track pressing Ctrl to generate an overlap at the split point: switching from Track1 to Track2 works fine, but when I want

    RE: Thoughts on Vegas marketing
I'm occasionally active in Zcam and Canon forums which are populated almost exclusively by pro film makers. More than half are Resolve users. But I'm one of the few that have ever mentioned Vegas. The only interest I ever stirred up there was when

RE: What is the best graphics card for vegas 21 ?
@Cam I don't know why that is, especially with Vegas is assigning the decoding to your Intel IGP via (auto) option, for your given files it may not be better but generally the expectation is that it should not be worse. What is your CPU, and what

RE: [Closed] VEGAS Pro 21 Build 108 General Discussion
Sounds accurate to me. Yes I'm on a 13900K. I should have specified 60fps IPB. 24fps does indeed play back near perfectly. But 60fps is unusable without proxies. Since there's no change I'll stick to my version as I don't think I need any new

RE: please make muted events (video and audio) more distinguishable.
Working with a post multicam edit with (not clearly visibly) muted events all over the place, I really missed this feature again.Magix would that be possible, please please?

RE: subclips plays slower than original video files
Vegas always creates subclips based on the original files and not the proxy files. This question you raised is very interesting and I think it deserves to be evaluated more carefully. @VEGASDerek  The Swap Video files function also has problems with

    RE: LAG PREVIEW WITH MULTI-CAMERA
120Mbps 60p in a multicam project "may" not preview too well on any system without the help of a "Proxy" and/or or a "Prerender." Or, you might get lucky. Search.

RE: Avid Codec Support Clarification for V20
I'm not sure what you mean by this. You certainly can't use 32-bit 4K color processing in Vegas Pro for real-time playback and thus grading at that resolution cannot be done since you have to make all adjustment in 8-bit then turn on 32-bit for

RE: View Multicam AND final preview at the same time?
It is not possible to do this in VEGAS. The only way to get this view in VEGAS is with two monitors. On the first monitor is the multicam view and on the second monitor is the final view. I've always wanted that option, but honestly I'm not holding

All audio dropping every second or two
I'm having the same playback problem on a few Multicam projects I'm working on. When playing through the timeline, the audio briefly drops every second or two. It's not an issue with the original files (I've tried them in other software) and I

    RE: Multi camera editing
One thing to consider... VEGAS Pro Recommends 16GB of RAM for 1080p, 32GB for 4K, and for 4K, it is also recommended to have a modern GPU with at least 8GB of VRAM. Being that your system falls below these specs, it's recommended you use proxies. To

    RE: Edit media in trimmer?
Yes, effex have to added after the multicam edit, or as an effect in the media pool. In your case you might want to correct the problem camera and render to a lossless codec then use that as your edit source.

RE: Cuts aren't placed at timeline when switching cameras in Multicam
Could you post a quick video showing the issue? My first thought was that it could be relataed to the quantize function, but I'm not sure that it fits your description. So I discovered the culprit. You know how on a webpage, if you middle mouse

RE: Vegas crashing upon attempting playback in video previewer
Sounds like there might have been some corruptions in cached data or saved settings. Holding down the ctrl and shift keys while starting up Vegas often fixes that... try settings-only first and if that doesn't do the trick, check the box too on next
