RE: Vegas likes the Intel Arc A380
Looks like Nvidia's encode/decode support matrix is updated to include 4000-series. https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-and-decode-gpu-support-matrix-new No new decoding formats and still no 4:2:2. But Nvidia has already supported av1 decoding

    RE: Computer Upgrade
Yeah, I do find it hard to justify paying over AU$1,300 for a graphics card, if I’m to be honest. Compared to my current RX 580, the RTX 3060 Ti is quite a significant upgrade for me. And, like you, I have found 8GB of vRAM to be sufficient for what

RE: Am I better off selling my RTX 2080 Super for the Intel Arc?
@Richvideo The Arc would give you more formats but I'd be surprised if an a770 could process fx and timelines as well as a 2080. But you could get the best of both worlds adding an inexpensive a380 as a 2nd gpu. They're about the same encoding and

RE: Voukoder installer for VP 21 now available
Voucoder's ..2007-config... file I had already moved by hand into VP 21 Pro's program directory, the usual trick. With the slightly modified installer, this is now automatic, of course.  By the way, I tested Voucoder's AV1 encoder with an 8k file.

RE: Encoder glitches / digital artifacts on clips transitions
@weinerschizel An A380 will be MUCH worse for preview than your 2080ti. It's about the same as my 1050ti, maybe a bit worse. At the moment, it's value is for decoding 422 footage and GPU supported rendering for AV1 and VP9. I only purchased the card

RE: I render with my RTX 4090 24GB at twice the speed of my GTX 1060 6GB
Dual NVENC encoders are included on Ada GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs with at least 12 GB of memory... Thats not to say Vegas pro will use the two encoders in one session (yet). @bitman Dual Nvenc is for HEVC and AV1, H.264 reportedly is identical on

RE: PC Build for Vegas Pro 4K HEVC Editing - Feedback Needed
My thoughts on water cooling. If you use an AIO (all in one) water cooler, leaking is kept to a minimum. With Intel, you would need a case that can handle the AIO radiator, and getting something like the highly regarded Arctic Freezer III 420.

M.2 (Hynix p41 2tb) vs SATA (Crucial m500 1tb) The m.2's never going to be a bottleneck with anything I do whereas the SATA drive can get saturated doing a few things at once. This is the reason why I enjoy the M.2 components in my laptop. The

RE: Intel ARC - General Discussion of Newest GPU Competitor
As the HOS developer, I installed an A380 a couple of months ago primarily for testing GPU encoding using AV1 and VP9 formats. Recently, I've been capturing quite a lot of Hero 11 5.3K 60P 10bit footage which wouldn't even "play" on my 8700K system

RE: Vegas likes the Intel Arc A380
The Nvidia 4000 series launch revealed that NVDEC, the gpu decoder has not been updated, there is no 4:2:2 10bit decode. Have not read about NVENC, but may also be the same except for additional AV1 encode.

RE: New PC Build For Vegas 20
Yes I only encode via hardware. With older builds of Vegas I used to frameserve to Handbrake. Now I use Happy Otter R+, which basically does the same thing. All P cores stay pegged at 5.5GHz and E's at 4.3GHz during the encode. CPU usage on the

Intel ARC - General Discussion of Newest GPU Competitor
I just got an Intel Arc A770 LE with 16 GB VRAM. There are pros and cons, as expected. As this series of GPUs (the ARC or Alchemist series) is relatively new compared to NVidia and AMD graphics, it seems like a general discussion thread is

RE: Ultimate Vegas Pro PC Build
@weinerschizel I would not use any of the Arc boards as a primary gpu if you already had an Amd 580, Nvidia 1660, or better. What it really excels at is decoding and rendering hardware formats the others cannot. Vegas supports it for decoding avc
