  That's because you may be trying to open the wrong file. Your project file has the .veg extension. thank u, but no thats not the case. i know that when u normally save ur project, a video file will show up and if u click on it then sony will open.

  When this happens in the future, try right clicking on the media file (probably any media file) in project media, then open the video so it plays in a media player, then close and go back to vegas. I did this once and it fixed the audio
