Decklink Mini Monitor 4K with Vegas: Soft image?
I've decided to take the advice of the wisemen and monitor through a Blackmagic Decklink Mini Monitor 4K card for my color grading display, which is a Benq SW240, calibrated with DisplayCal. The Decklink card works with Vegas 17, and the color and

RE: Keep it up Vegas
Is this a real post? You are linking to a Blackmagic forum. Link didn't work though. (Edit: link works now. It is a user praising a Vegas feature not in Resolve)

RE: Recommended Computer
Desktops are usually better $$$ value than laptops and provide much better options for future expansion. The Evoo 17 mentioned in my previous post is only 27% slower in Vegas benchmarks vs. my pricier 9900K / VEGA 64 desktop which scores near the

Advice needed: BlackMagic RAW in Vegas
I'll be doing a 3 camera shoot for a podcast with the Blackmagic Pocket 6K cameras. My 2 options for codecs are ProRes and BRAW. ProRes is never fun in Vegas, but it does work. My plan is to record 8:1 BRAW and color grade in DaVinci. I don't want

This is from the description- "With the DeckLink Mini Monitor 4K from Blackmagic Design you can play out 4K content to high-resolution monitors and recorders in real-time from your compatible edit system. " CPU- Intel Core i7 3770SRAM- 32 GB

Still cant get smooth 4K, will this help?
While I have noticed an improvement with preview of 4K on my 50" 4K TV that I use as an external monitor I would like it to be smoother. With Vegas Pro 18, playback has definitely improved with 30 fps but my GPU seems to choke on 60 fps. Do you

RE: A serious consideration for BRAW Footage
I do have a Blackmagic camera and, like many thousands of people around the world shoot Braw (because the pictures are so beautiful). I was disappointed to find that it was not included in Vegas 18, especially as Blackmagic gives away the coding (I

RE: Future ProResRAW support
The Sigma fp records records uncompressed RAW internally. There is no patent on RAW recording in camera. This is true, internal 12bit RAW (Cinema DNG RAW). The Sigma fp can also record *both* BRAW, to BlackMagic's 12G Video Assist, and ProResRAW, to

RE: [Closed] VEGAS Pro 18 Coming In August!
Magix doesn't make cameras, video switchers, and other hardware that it needs software to help sell. BlackMagic can afford to sell Resolve for next to nothing because its development is funded from the sale of their hardware. Yet despite that, it

RE: Black Magic Raw
Speak for yourself, I've used them in some music video projects along with other effects, and created some really cool looks. I get you're salty about this feature not being ready, but none of those AI effects took anything away from the time

RE: New Sony Codecs
I realise Magix is a small company. But in pursuit of codec support, wouldn't you want to deliver progress and satisfy the needs of as big as a customer base as you can? I'd say Red or Blackmagic would predominantly edit on other software, so do the

RE: What does it mean with Video ID: 4113 (0x1011)?

RE: Hauling in a DaVinci Resolve (lite) project into Vegas Pro?
@NickHope All footage is HD, so I unchecked the generate proxies option. Maybe I should rebuild the project again. Right now the timeline is mixed with source and proxy footage. So, for example, I get audio source one, two, and a proxy file thrown

RE: Hauling in a DaVinci Resolve (lite) project into Vegas Pro?
@NickHope Is there a way to tell VP to work off the original files or do you think I should let it do its thing? Resolve was working off my original files so am not sure why VP generated and deployed proxies. I was using Resolve (lite) for years but

RE: Future ProResRAW support
I definitely would appreciate BlackMagic Raw (BRAW) support. I film in nothing but that, and it'd be great to cut out the Resolve middle man.

@Kinvermark 1) HQX does have a 10 bit variant, but I don't think Resolve renders it, and Vegas cannot read. Maybe something for the future? Yes. And I just realised that my installed Grass Valley codec pack is 7.3.1.2939 from 2014! Deffo been in

Nice work Nick! Some thoughts: 1) HQX does have a 10 bit variant, but I don't think Resolve renders it, and Vegas cannot read. Maybe something for the future? 2) Would be nice to test ProRes performance, but that can only come from Resolve on a Mac.

Rec 709 levels are defined as 16-235. No GUI in ANY NLE is considered an accurate way to monitor and grade due to the uncontrolled and unpredicatable signal path (e.g GPU settings, OS settings, print colour management software profiles, etc.) For
