    RE: Version 17 and Cineform
@Kinvermark 1) HQX does have a 10 bit variant, but I don't think Resolve renders it, and Vegas cannot read. Maybe something for the future? Yes. And I just realised that my installed Grass Valley codec pack is 7.3.1.2939 from 2014! Deffo been in

    RE: Version 17 and Cineform
Nice work Nick! Some thoughts: 1) HQX does have a 10 bit variant, but I don't think Resolve renders it, and Vegas cannot read. Maybe something for the future? 2) Would be nice to test ProRes performance, but that can only come from Resolve on a Mac.

    RE: Version 17 and Cineform
I got Cineform rendering working in Resolve (embarrassing user error... don't even ask... too long in lockdown!). With reference to my search for a good round-tripping workflow from VEGAS, for colour correction and grading in Resolve, here are my

RE: SOS Help, VEGAS preview color is inconformity and inaccurate
Rec 709 levels are defined as 16-235. No GUI in ANY NLE is considered an accurate way to monitor and grade due to the uncontrolled and unpredicatable signal path (e.g GPU settings, OS settings, print colour management software profiles, etc.) For

    RE: Free VEGAS Pro?
Actually, Vegas HAS ALREADY BEEN OFFERED (NEARLY) FOR FREE! There have been several Humble Bundle promotions over the years where the bundle costs something like $20. Not just Vegas - the whole bundle. The version offered is usually a year old, but

    RE: Free VEGAS Pro?
Could the OP please explain how s/he expects Vegas Creative Software to be able to derive an income if Vegas Pro is free. How is the company expected to pay the rent, electricity bill, wages, etc if one of the company's principal sources of income

    RE: Free VEGAS Pro?
What does it matter if you know the number of users if you are making no money? If Vegas Pro is too high, you can purchase Movie Studio. It is very reasonably priced and does 90% of what a video editor needs. Blackmagic Design who owns DaVinci is

RE: VEGAS PRO 15 UI Concept Design
It seems that glovercover (the super fan of VEGAS Pro who designed the Vegas 15 concept UI) has gone to Davinci Resolve. @glovercover Do you? Can you give us some advantages that you change to Resolve, as a suggestion. Hi friend :) Yes, two years

    RE: Future ProResRAW support
As I understand it, RED has a patent that is weirdly specific. They own the right to: 1.) Compressed raw (not "uncompressed" raw) Combined with 2.) "Internally" recorded inside the camera body. This is why Sony, Atomos and other companies can build

    RE: Future ProResRAW support
I have no need for ProResRaw support however I agree support for it is needed. Support for Red R3d raw is several years behind in Vegas, and originally Vegas was one of the first NLEs to support R3d. I'd love to see Red R3d support brought up to

RE: Vegas POST, Vegas Effects does not start.
@set That may indeed work for Vegas alone, I have not tried the alternative method back then, as I have other NLE's I use which support Boris, and as a consequence would lose Boris OFX in Magix's own VPX (Video Pro X), and some NLE called Blackmagic

    RE: Vegas and C200 Raw
FYI Vegas was one of the first NLE's to support RAW from Red cameras. There was then about 2 years, while owned by Sony, that it did not support Red Dragon Raw, this was fixed maybe about 4 or 5 years ago. It sure would be nice if Vegas would become

RE: BM Intensity Pro 4K - 10 bit preview over HDMI?
I'd go for HDR monitors in the future, as you'll be able to see your 10 bit footage in 10 bit when grading, and if you desire to output to a HDR format from there, you have that option. As for your BlackMagic card, you might have to use the GPU

RE: BM Intensity Pro 4K - 10 bit preview over HDMI?
Yes, HDR by standard is at least 10 bit (up to 12 bit currently). Vegas supports the HDR10 and HLG varieties of HDR, both of which are 10 bit minimum. HDR is currently the only way to get 10 bit video to a client in a deliverable format as well. HDR

BM Intensity Pro 4K - 10 bit preview over HDMI?
Hi, does anyone know if Vegas can output 10 bit with the BM Intensity Pro 4K? With the non-4K version the 10 bit check box seemed not to work and with the Mini Monitor 4K "sometimes".

RE: For developers: Raw CinemaDNG support in VP15 and 16? And 8K?
Hi....the Sigma fp cameras don't exceed 4K. Besides any resolution should be possible with cDNG. It doesn't say anything in the format specification about 4K as a limit. Where did you get the idea that using cDNG prevents people from exceeding 4K?

RE: Support for Blackmagic Decklink card.
Try setting the Decklink to 60 hz in the Decklink Control Panel, aka, "Desktop Video" program. Also, make sure that Vegas external monitor is set to Blackmagic or Decklink. Some BM cards work and some don't, I have two, one is fine, the other has no

RE: sRGB vs REC.709: color shift, or identical?
ALO, I've always checked adjust levels from studio RGB to computer RGB as that sets the computer display to preview source video footage (16-235 black/white levels) properly on a computer monitor. A computer monitor by its nature is (0-255
