VEGAS PRO 15 UI Concept Design

glovercover wrote on 10/30/2016, 1:54 PM

A few weeks ago, I thought, how could look VEGAS PRO today. And that's what I did. It's just my vision of how should look like a modern program for video editing.
This is not a real product, it is just a UI concept design based on Vegas Pro. Personally, I'd like that to Vegas was developing in this direction. What do you think? If you have interesting ideas, I'd love to see your vision of the UI design for VEGAS.

Very modern concept... My additional inputs, just like previous one, is having the ability to tag your media clip / event clip using color. Can be useful to locate.

And merge the Title Bar & Menu bar. This can add extra lines...

As to Multi Sequence ability, Vegas Pro can be run by multiple instances. However, this function is NOT available in Vegas Pro Steam Edition (purchased from Steam).

I hope not! :) it will be the end of the days for Vegas. Working in the dark interface, I noticed that I can work longer without tiring. Even creating this design concept, my productivity was higher. And as you know, work with color correction more comfortable in a dark room.

i'd be more worried about the engine rather than the bodywork. vegas can have the slickest of looking gui's but it'll still be useless if it still comes laden with bugs...

pierre-k wrote on 10/31/2016, 7:59 AM

It looks like Adobe Premiere or Reaper, who I love and work with it just like in Vegas. Visually, it's nice, but the important icons are dull gray. That is the wrong way. Gray icons coalesce and can quickly orient. You are missing the Record button :-) The left audio track must be the red record button. Otherwise tell the difference between audio and video tracks. Please use the icons of Sony Vegas Pro 12. Otherwise, great job! I look forward to a version that will probably never be :-(((

I modified your version...

Im Sorry my English.

Pierre's version is better. Buttons like the solo, mute and so on should chnage color and not just color shade when they are pressed.

Ummm! Colored icons :) Users need to have a choice for Color or BW icons.

Sony Vegas had always colorful icons. He should continue in color. Editing is faster and more intuitive.Vegas is not gray Adobe. :-) You can later change the method of control and editing, and can I delete Vegas and install reliable Premiere.

Sorry my English.

how to have the modified version of glover cover?

SphinxRa40 wrote on 10/31/2016, 12:52 PM

i love it!👍 indeed with more colorized icons it's perfect!

MarkHolmes wrote on 10/31/2016, 2:42 PM

Assuming more bug fixes were addressed first, and GPU playback improved, I would love a redesign along these lines.

pierre-k wrote on 10/31/2016, 3:31 PM

Dear glovercover.

It is more realistic to create Cockos Reaper Video editor with your design. I do not believe that Magix will use your proposal, including GPU acceleration, without the old and new errors, and more. Vegas Pro 14 is a shame and unnecessary. New version - new bugs and bad design. Cockos thoroughly devoted to his Reaper, adding new features it is current and not outdated.

It has the same controls as Vegas. In some ways it is better - you pick the clips and hold the mouse right button! This feature me in Vegas is still missing.

Wow.. you guys are awesome. You are able to come up with sample GUI design concept that is far better looking then the current Vegas interface..  I hope Magix will take on the concept of new modern Vegas interface in the future of VP15.

In this mockup, timeline's BG is 32,32,32 - and Panel's BG is 40,40,40...

So, perhaps you can share your expected number for being a bit brighter...

Color has been scientifically proven to speed up everything. Why go to black and white to slow everything down?

Color is how how those geniuses compute impossible math and data recognition problems. Imagine black and white traffic lights.
