Movie Studio 18 has nothing to do with Vegas Movie Studio
Let's get real, before the confusion starts and we (the senior members of this forum) have to explain what has happened to the unaware casual users of Vegas. Movie Studio 18, Movie Studio 18 Platinum and Movie Studio 18 Suiteare not the new updated

RE: Another 'Vegas won't read my file" thread
Thank you John, Roger, and Steve, I didn't know about the Stills:Open Sequence option.I followed up on Marco's suggestion this morning. If the FFMPEG script scales the video to 1440x1080 or 2880x2160 then Vegas will allow me to load the video. I

RE: Wav file will not open in Cakewalk
I only use 'open copy in audio editor'. Vegas then creates a copy and places it in the media pane. I can drag this copy (wav) direct onto the timeline in Cakewalk and play back there etc without any problem. But the program will not open directly

RE: Another 'Vegas won't read my file" thread
You are not literally gonna drop them each in Vegas. John has recommended to you an excellent solution that you are probably not aware of. When importing image sequences into Vegas, you simply let the cursor hover over the first image in the

Wav file will not open in Cakewalk
I am trying Cakewalk (free) as an audio editor for the time being and have been trying to set it up as an external editor both in Vegas Pro 18 and Movie Studio 16 Platinum. When I try to open a copy of an audio file in an external editor (Cakewalk),

Best practices: Sharing portable SSDs between desktop and laptop?
I read a fairly concerning post (quoted below) from fellow member, Video_flaneur, from the thread, "Can't open project between two computers," regarding the sharing of drives between two computers (I thought this more general title would be more

RE: Plug-ins have X with FX!? Why?
There are cases when the NewBlue Application Manager will not open. In these situations updating a DLL file will usually fix the issue. Please download and extract the following ZIP package: www.newbluefx.com/downloads/Support/libeay32.zipThen

RE: Why Ease of Editing (Vegas I think is the king of this) is important
@D7K, @Rednroll I'm going to have to wholeheartedly agree with D7K and you'd use Samplitude like ProTools, with maybe the added (and aforementioned) ability (which ProTools may do as well, haven't tried) to pretty seamlessly export/import individual

RE: Why Ease of Editing (Vegas I think is the king of this) is important
There is really ONLY one element (well maybe a couple) of the Vegas experience that shoots this all in the foot. (and maybe its getting a bit better, I'm not on the bleeding edge hardware wise, still, respectable rig) and that is playback speed.

RE: How good is VEGAS Pro?
You can download Vegas Pro as trial, but with Avid you can get the limited version - Avid Media Composer First - for free, without any time limitations. But it has other limitations (from the top of my head) - 5 bins, 5 video tracks, 8 audio tracks,

RE: Can you rename Video Plugins in Plug-in Manager?
@Rednroll With Audio Plugins I'm able to right click and Rename the default plugin name. You shouldn't be able to do this with Audio or Video plugin names. Being able to this will open up a can of worms and in my opinion it's a bug that no-one (but

I have a 5700xt myself and it works quite well in Vegas 18. On older versions of Vegas there were issues with pip not masking correctly which could be worked around by using Bezier masking in tandem. Other than that, functionality and performance

RE: Vegas Pro Edit or Vegas Pro?
If you don't currently own Sound Forge, then the $50 upgrade price is well worth it, although since it seems you may not have a lot of experience with audio then those benefits likely allude you at this time. Sound Forge won't help your daughter in

RE: Pan/Crop & Track Motion reset
If you're doing it once, it probably won't make much difference. If you need to do it to 100 events on the timeline - select all 100 events and push one button will be much faster than opening Pan/Crop 100 times and then deleting all keyframes 100
