RE: Vegas Pro 13 and New BCC 10 for OFX
I have a stable Vegas 13 setup and just upgraded from BCC 9 to 10. Still rock solid. In doing so I was curious as to options moving forward with Boris if the day comes I move from Vegas. I just received this correspondence from Boris: 1. Does my

@john222, I have been wrestling with the same thoughts as yourself, but have still not reached a definitive conclusion. At first I thought I would go with Avid since it is well known, has regular releases and has been well integrated with Fusion for

RE: Sony Catalyst available by Subscription only
Sony's play makes no sense and I think is fed by desperation. It does make sense when you have a "decentralized" organization and yes, they (SCS) are desperate. Blackmagic is very different as other products are allowed to "carry" the weight of

RE: Sony Catalyst available by Subscription only
If subscription is a requirement for further development, then how is Blackmagic able to make such great strides with DaVinci Resolve? And they give away a 'lite''version for free! The difference is the attitude of senior management -

RE: no Vegas Pro 14 :(
A rewrite seems very optimistic, but at least a new version coming out indicates Vegas is still alive (or at the very least, still on life support). It could be just another normal update, with no big changes. Anyway, I would expect an

RE: Sony Going Downhill!!!
I can understand the problem here,i use various blackmagic cameras and shuttles,in my work flow, this has made Vegas almost redundent simply because it does not handle DNXHD MXF, and while using P,Cs to edit this is the main format which gets given

RE: Getting ready for 4K editing...
That is wrong - Vegas can use proxy files, but it is not a must! Do you want to edit 8 or 10bit footage? That will make a huge difference. With a powefull PC 8bit is no issue really. 10bit is more tricky. Vegas can be used to bring a 10bit UHD

RE: You Can NOT Test Catalyst Edit!
You can preview ]i/[full-screen, but the preview covers up the GUI on single-monitor mode. On dual-monitor mode, full-screen preview covers up the node tree and color controls. It's been discussed on the Resolve forum. Evidently SDI-out to a

RE: You Can NOT Test Catalyst Edit!
Am I mistaken, or does Resolve only offer full-screen display over SDI? You can preview full-screen, but the preview covers up the GUI on single-monitor mode. On dual-monitor mode, full-screen preview covers up the node tree and color controls.

RE: You Can NOT Test Catalyst Edit!
You are right my friend .. I don't know what happened to Sony Creative Software when they decided to go with such a dump, and cheap move with such new, un-matured, and un-proven software!!! They are dreaming if they think that users will buy

RE: You Can NOT Test Catalyst Edit!
If they want to follow, they should follow Blackmagic and give away Catalyst Edit for HD work, and sell the 4k full version.

RE: Color to Black and White
You could also use Blackmagic Fusion for tracking and keying. It's also free.

I have the same Blackmagic card. That's a shame... As for DVD-Architect, Sony doesn't update anything anymore.

RE: Decklink 4K extreme and Vegas
I have the same question. Will Vegas output 4K over any Blackmagic device? I want to add a Blackmagic device for 4K monitoring from Resolve. The Intensity Pro 4K would seem a good option for me. But I'd also like to monitor 4K from Vegas on the

RE: Are there any pro editors still using Vegas?
I also do not see the point that Vegas should stop working - WHY should that happen? I mean, with some formats we have the issue that we have to transcode also today. For example with UHD ProRes from my Shogun- where I use TMPGenc to transcode the

RE: After reinstall of VP13, GPU renders at 40% only
I figured I'd just reinstall the whole OS. I was getting strange lockups even is registry editor when I'd do a search, and it would crash. So I reinstalled a fresh Win 10 64bit, all drivers from motherboard site and updated to latest nVidia

What JonnyRoy suggests is good information, that also holds true for devices like Blackmagic hardware. The manufacturers create a device that works, and then start selling as fast as possible. Things like auto format selection and troubleshooting

RE: How to: duplicate Star Wars light saber?
Thanks. To clarify, I do not want to to generate a light saber in motion. Rather I have a 2 d light line source that I want to add the 'sparks' to the edge of the light via a particle system. I guess I could try Blackmagic Fusion, just did not want
