A Budget Camera for HDR10 in VEGAS20
Part-I I hate videos go jerky and shaky, in the tainted Rec709 color banding; and crowds of homo sapiens still passionately teach you how "cinematic" phenotype dedicated with that space and so forth and so on. I love 4k60p HDR10, real and really

RE: Import 4K HEVC (GoPRo) in Vegas pro18 is perfect, Vegas pro19 crashes
I have a whole trip to the mountain temple, people in trance, weird stuff, great views, great music. Can't get past rendering 10 minutes or so before Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005) Fault Module: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dllorUnmanaged Exception

RE: Vegas crashing on 4k HEVC import
HEVC isn't a great format for editing- the reason it's used is to reduce bandwidth and capture file sizes on devices like GoPros and phones, though it is getting more widespread. If your computer has an Intel iGPU you can use for decoding it may

RE: Question Re Drop Frame & GoPro 30P
This is a malformation on the encoding end, right? My GoPro is, for whatever reason, producing a non-standard stream?

RE: VEGAS Pro 19 Update 5 (Build 643)
The version 19 build 643. the version crashes the system. I tested it on 3 computers and I have the same problem. I had to revert to version 19.0.636 which works fine. I edit with videos from several different sources (GOPRO, Panasonic S5 and

RE: VEGAS Pro 20 feedback
New user here and recently installed. My initial impressions are underwhelming TBH. I shoot quite a lot of 4k GoPro footage at 60fps CFR - these are H265/HEVC. The main issue I have is with the preview window. If I just import the files as is, the

RE: Vegas Pro Workflow Bugs as found in 19 and now Version 20
DNG files are lossless raw data in a different, non-proprietary container. If you're using the Adobe DNG converter try full sized previews. The debayer engine is whether Vegas actually processes the raw file itself using the raw data (and is not

RE: My new Pro 19 Edit can't render with Intel HVEC format
Thanks, everyone. it's interesting that my 'Intel HEVC' format option seems to be (almost) exclusive to my setup - no explanation for it. The only other video-related program installed on my VEGAS Pro PC is a late-version copy of the discontinued

RE: constant crashes with 4k 10bit mp4 DJI pocket 2 footage
@MindmatterMaybe I see the same only on my laptop using a lot of 4K HEVC 8 bit 50p files, caused by the increasing amount of used memory.I managed to avoid the crashes by changing 2 settings in my Vegas installation.Because I use those GOPro files

@EricLNZ 1) There are 8 items in the compoundplug folder, including compoundplug.dll. They all say last modified in 2017. 2) Laptop has integrated Intel HD Graphics 620. I could only find 2 references to GPU in the preferences. These were in a

RE: Vegas Pro does not open video file .mov (4K frame rate 25)
@EricLNZ Is it possible you have your bad take on 50i due to TV show conversions from 60i for content originating in NTSC countries? That used to look terrible, especially with fast credit scrolls at the end of TV episodes and panning shots, it's

RE: Black Bar Fill very slow in V20
@Reyfox @misohoza Yeah seems a bit of a joke putting out a new version that fails to do this, the Vegas producers have added a few extra bits to the program which are useless to me, & they've spent 0 time on making Vegas faster or more reliable,

RE: Question Re Drop Frame & GoPro 30P
It appears, for whatever reason, that GoPro wants the video to quantize to exactly match the end of the audio stream. Not sure what logic led to that decision, as we usually find it the other way around.

RE: Import 4K HEVC (GoPRo) in Vegas pro18 is perfect, Vegas pro19 crashes
but this has me spinning out. @Steve-Gill You're using the public beta version of VP20, in a recent VP20 release there was a mention of fixing a decoding problem with gopro files. Could that be causing your crashing? You could get a trial for VP20

RE: [Closed] Post Your VEGAS Creations!
Reyfox, one of the nice features on the gopro is the timelapse. Other than the time that the camera is working it is a pretty painless operation. Only takes a couple of minutes swimming through the menu to setup the camera. That was about 2.5 hours

RE: Question Re Drop Frame & GoPro 30P
OK, let's just assume the GoPro footage is correctly 29.970 as indicated in media properties. If I ensure "Quantize to Frames" is checked and "Show Unquantized Event Edges", I expect Vegas to show me any event (clip) endings that don't fall on a

Why is HEVC legacy enabled by default?
I was testing my new system (and freshly installed Vegas post 19 and 365 v20) with a GoPro clip of mine, and playback was not smooth (to put it mildly). I opened up File I/O in preference, and I noticed HEVC legacy was enabled by default and HW

@RogerS you hit the nail on the head. I do my image editing in CS5. I have found no easy way to edit my GoPro / .GPR or Alpha Raw / .ARW files. It's a sore point for me but I don't want to subscribe to Adobe for latest Photoshop. I really appreciate

@Vincent-Brice I have a very similar computer spec'ed like yours. Difference in OS (I am using Win10) and graphics card (mine had 8GB RAM). I have the same graphics driver, 22.5.1. I downloaded your file and it plays back fine with preview settings

RE: Vegas Pro 19 crashing since upgrading to build 643
One thing could be to try to re-encode the drone and GoPro files in case that's the cause of the issues in Vegas. I'm guessing MXVideoAllocator means you are working with HEVC files? You don't say what the CPU is but if you have the NVIDIA card

RE: Vegas 19 continually crashing, unusable, but 13 stable same PC?
Vegas prefers Intel iGPUs for decoding but that doesn't help you. You could reencode them with software lile ShutterEncoder or Handbrake which should result in stable AVC files. Still, it would be better if they improved decoding for your GoPro
