Why all our settings (project, layouts, options) are gone and have to set again because an update?
It was always so? (sorry i just upgraded to 19 from 12 :) )

All of our company presets are gone and everything went to default settings! Please think of this when you release all-new versions and builds. When this happens it costs small companies like our thousands of $$$ fixing, researching how to fix, and making new templates. It's killing us each time you do it. How do we get back our project video presets? We have a LOT for each client. PLUS nothing works as it did before because all the settings we had, like "enable .mov", are all reset. spent an hour today just trying to figure out how to fix that.

This is why our company skips every other version of Vegas (2 or 3 years) because it costs us, on average, 15-20k to get everything working again (according to our books). 

It HAS to be seamless or it's a disaster for our clients and contracts with them. They all need separate settings, renders, and setups. All saved in our presets. They also give little to no time for unexpected problems like this. So, get it done or you're fired.

Also, a chat line for tech support would REALLY help, OR a USA tech support hotline is critical for companies like ours that depend on Vegas to work. When it doesn't, we are down. Also here are all the fixes that HAVE to be addressed as of yet in Vegas 19. I've written a dozen times about these fixes.

Here is a list of things that still need fixing:
#1  - Frequently crashes while saving and playing at the same time.
#2 - Crashes 90% of the time when you click “save as” and then you go to “make new folder to save in” (hundreds of crashes over the last few years.)
#3 - When you have 2 side by side screens, and you right-click on the “right screen” for the pop-up menu such as on a “marker”, the menu pops up on the opposite screen. (just on this version)
#4 - When you click “shift” on one screen and then click something else to highlight multiple tracks, the mouse jumps back to the other screen preventing you from highlighting the desired area. (just on this version)

Some of us have hundreds of presets and when they disappear, some of us lose contracts because we can't fulfill our goals on time. It's a disaster for us. We CAN set them all back up but it takes weeks to do.

Presets and settings like the Windows settings should all transfer over easily and seamlessly, or at least have a way to save them as a file with the ability to import them from previous build.

I can say that the search bar function for Video FX is way faster now.

Now, if only all my plugins were shown in their related folders in the Video FX tab instead of them being alphabetized. I still have to use Plugin Manager.

Just made the update: for all of us that found the settings reset: View - Window Layouts - Organize Layouts and then you should find your old preset(s) there.

@dape thanks for the tip. I still have do go through all the other settings in Preferences. I had some in Internals which I set once and basically forget. Now, I don't remember which ones were changed.

I just had my first crash.

I have 3 images on the timeline. I used Graide Color Match to match the colors between them. I sent in the Error report. Trying to restart, B636 just hangs when it gets to initializing UI. I need Task Manager to kill it.

After a hard computer restart, I loaded up the project with only 3 images on the timeline with Graide Color Match. Switching between the images, the Preview window does not update to the new image selected.

I am going back to B550.

Well I would go back to B550, but at the moment, can't. I get a "Bad Gateway". So, it's back to B532 since that one is saved on my computer. Frustrated am I? Yes.

Just made the update: for all of us that found the settings reset: View - Window Layouts - Organize Layouts and then you should find your old preset(s) there.

Does it fix it if you remove the color match plugin?

I'm regret to see your presets removed. Try the following methods to see if they are helpful:

1. Delete the entry 9998 in the registry location Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Sony Creative Software\Vegas Pro\19.0\Metrics\Application

2. If it doesn't work. You can try Vegasaur Preset Manager to see if you can find your presets back and backup it.

Alle nvenc-Templates sind bei mir wieder verschwunden. Meine Nvidia rtx 2080ti ist auch im File I/O verschwunden. In der Version 550 konnte ich es bei den Einstellungen des internen / Hardware-Encoders von wahr auf falsch wiederherstellen und es wurden alle nvenc-Vorlagen angezeigt. Mit dieser Version funktioniert diese Methode nicht. Gibt es hier einen Trick?

During the Sony era, Vegas received the most major feature upgrades, and even many of the most major features of the current Vegas all were completed at that time. Many of the mechanics of the sony period were so polished and far-sighted that it needs to take a long time to erase Sony's imprint. 

This time a large amount of user data were mistakenly deleted because the team wanted to get rid of the Sony registry and replace it with something else. It is unexpected that it makes so much user data disappear. 

The lesson here is, don't  look down upon the features that Vegas got with Sony, and when we try to replace them easily, we may lose some other features. A good example is the new Event FX window introduced in Vegas 18, which has lost the convenience of the old folder view. @Reyfox should know this.

@fr0sty sadly, I went back to B550 and couldn't double check the 3 images. Tomorrow, I'll do it again. It was only 3 images and Graide Color Match is easy to use.

Cool, please let us know when you do get the chance to check that, as this didn't pop up during testing, so I'm inclined to believe that particular plugin is causing issues. If so, I'll make sure the team is aware of that.

@fr0sty I will have to do this on Thursday. After going back to B550 color matching, I was able to click on each image and it appeared instantly in the Preview.

I too think that the problem with B636 I had has to do with the Graide plugin.
