RE: correct only skin tones in Vegas Pro 19
I use Sony cameras (including the a6600) with Cine 2 myself. It saves time getting you to accurate color and removes the oddities Sony color has. I find it is a good timesaver. For GoPro I haven't used that LUT myself- you do have to follow the

RE: Vegas Pro does not open video file .mov (4K frame rate 25)
I am having a related problem that I cannot seem to solve: I cannot get Vegas Pro 19 to recognize/open .mov files. I have installed and re-installed various versions of Quicktime (7.76 up to 7.79), I have checked the "enable the Quicktime plug-in"

RE: i am trying to put a GoPro video into VEGAS 16 and error occurred
Woops, that doesn't mean it is current, nor did you say where you bought it. There is, and never was, a software named "Sony Vegas 16." Vegas Pro 16 reached its end of life in August of 2019, and hasn't been updated or maintained since. Your GoPro

RE: Can't open 5.3k files from Gopro
I just reinstalled VP15 and imported your Gopro HEVC coded file, VP15 needs internet connection to activate HEVC codec, which is also only possible when VP15 is (officially) registered. VP15 has the option to generate proxies, which would enable

RE: Help With Sharpening Settings
Something interesting I notice in the low/medium comparisons is that GoPro's in-camera sharpening appears more evenly distributed from the center to the corners, while Vegas' sharpening FX seem to affect the center more. I think what's happening is

RE: Help With Sharpening Settings
Not sure if it's clear but with GoPro there is not a no-sharpening option. Setting is either low, medium, or high. For the H8, I think "medium" is a very reasonable compromise esp given what most users want to do. For the H10, "medium" is

@michael-harrison I converted your clip to ProRes Proxy using the Shutter Encoder and I don't experience the same issue as before. General Complete name : C:\Users\John\Downloads\GX011273_Apple_ProRes_Proxy.mov Format

I picked up VP19 Edit recently. Below I'll be focusing on issues and such, but of course I like Vegas Pro. I wouldn't be using it over other options if I didn't. -------------------------------------------------- EDIT: For some reason in

RE: Large projects... to split or not to split
In the past for my travelogues, I used to create Extras - like in commerial DVDs and BluRays - for stuff additional to the main travelogue. This was easily done by craeting separate project renders and then creating multiple buttons for each of

RE: Help With Sharpening Settings
Just in case it helps, there is also Vegas "sharpen" in addition to "unsharp mask". I usually use some sharpen on Red R3d footage, I have no experience with GoPro.

RE: Help With Sharpening Settings
Your original intuition is correct -- stick with unsharp mask or similar in post, keep in-camera sharpening at minimum, and live with the rest. You said, As you'd expect, pretty big difference between claimed and actual resolution with GoPro.

RE: VPro19 381 continual crashes
The problem isn't Vegas exactly, it's that Vegas isn't optimized for the strange video files Zoom produces. It's trying not to waste bandwidth so is using very long GOPs, apparently. Consider transcoding these files (Handbrake, Shutter Encoder,

It is new, and I thought about that possibility, but the GoPro's are kind of notorious for less than stellar image quality. I'll see if I can find some downloadable samples for another reference. I do wonder about those corner regions, esp compared

Vegas Pro 19 and stability issues
