RE: Timecode sync attempt error message
So to follow up re my comment from 2 days ago "If importing bwf files gets them to correct timeline position, and Vegas multicam sync gets the R3d files in correct position relative to each other, then I hope moving the R3d files as a block to sync

    RE: 4K editing PC
"...how important is het GPU in vegas?" Very important for decoding and timeline acceleration. You could use both, one for decoding and the other for acceleration or any combination that works and suits your fancy. "...32GIG of RAM or do I need

    RE: 4K editing PC
@BONLEV I documented my recent system selection here: Intel 13900K I chose Intel because of the on-die video decoding hardware. thx John! I have read the topic. Seems intel is the way to go and not the amd ryzen. But how important is het GPU in

RE: best graphics card options for playback
This is an old thread from 2020. Subsequent posts indicate OP ended up getting an Amd 6900xt with an Arc a770 for decoding. I have that same combination myself. When display performance is my paramount consideration, I get the smoothest most glassy

All My cuts are not on frame boundaries, is there a way to fix them
I have been editing a multicam video, all the cameras shot in 23.98 and project in 23.98. I was going through the final touches and realized that one of my cuts was not on a frame boundary. I turned on the option to show where they are not on frame

RE: Intel's new B580 Battlemage GPU
@Richvideo I don't have a 2080 but do have a 1660ti which has the same decoding silicon. When testing an Intel a380 and a770, decoding performance was about the same as the 1660ti. While for general usage, the a770 was by far the smoothest of all

    RE: Hevc 11900k decoding
@nonam3 I only use Arc for decoding as though it was an igpu. I use Amd's in my desktops as the main gpus. My laptop is the only one I have with an Nvidia (3060) as the main gpu plus an Intel Iris as the igpu. The laptop is reasonably decent for the

RE: VRAM Bottleneck in Vegas Pro 22 – Considering GPU Upgrade to RX 7900 X
If you're doing ongoing render speed comparisons with Resolve you have to keep in mind Resolve uses both your 4090 encoders while Vegas and Voukoder currently only use the 1. You'd have to force single encoder via your choice of encode or resolution

Making a little progress: Import broadcast wave file and selecting arrange across timeline and use ruler time actually places the bwf files at correct place on timeline. Adding the R3d video files to another track, selecting them and then syncing

RE: What is the best graphics card for vegas 21 ?
Just got the body and lens for my 3rd 4k camera which will also be shooting hevc in my multicams. Up till now I rarely used proxies and only when using a 4:2:2 hd xf305 camera in the mix when all 5 cameras had to be shown at once in pips to select

Not on my c70. There is a separate menu for Custom Picture format which includes clog2, clog3, bt709 wdr, pq, hlg, eos std, eos neutral, and c709. Codec is independently selected in the Recording/Media menu where choices are Raw ST, Raw LT, XF-AVC

    RE: Vegas Pro 21 Crashes
The main way to avoid software crashes is to give VEGAS media that's easy to edit. Constant framerate AVC from cameras is usually fine and works well with VEGAS's GPU decoding on modern GPUs. ProRes also works great assuming a CPU and hard drive

I suggest using a conventional, not a multicam project in Vegas. What do you mean? How else can one rapidly switch between views while the playback is on?

Vp21 update: Adjustment events just got better for me

Lesson learned... After copy to drive (whether it is a direct copy or using Sony Catalyst or Playmemories), better do quick check up doing playback first with them (Catalyst / Playmemories) or if you have a chance, load it to VEGAS Pro (or whatever

RE: Vegas Pro 22 AI Fx SUPER slow to render
@Sean-Lester AI Upscales over 1.1x seem to always be increasingly gpu intensive as the scale goes up. Doing that to an fhd clip as an Event FX in a 4k project is a 2x upscale, even without any cropping. Only way I know to speed it up there is to use

RE: How do I enable 4:2:2 10 Bit Rendering
There are times where it matters... I notice it a lot when editing concerts with harsh red stage lighting. I've found that if I pay proper attention to white balance and iris, chroma sub-samping doesn't matter. It had some impact when I used 3ccd hd

RE: Bogus Review in PC Magazine

RE: Changing proxy format to speed up Proxy Building in Vegas 22
