Vegas Pro 22 Released!

Reyfox wrote on 7/29/2024, 6:37 AM

Well, initial usage for me with my hardware and camera codecs (Panasonic), everything is working just great!

I haven't had a chance to experiment with the AI features that I would use on a regular basis (Beat Detection, AI Dehaze, and AI Smoothen) yet, but looking forward to it! Especially beat detection and AI Dehaze. I've been using Vegasaur for beat detection and Boris FX BCC+Haze for dehazing those "panoramic" scenic shots.

I know that there will probably be some "bumps" (bugs) along the way, but so far for me, it's a great update!

No update available in my Magix account nor notification fron Vegas 21. Just says no update available within v21 for me.

Guess I'll just have to wait, maybe it's on a roll-out schedule.

Reyfox wrote on 7/29/2024, 8:01 AM

Possibly a roll out. Me being "US based", here is the LINK from the Vegas website.

Just received the email on the update.

I believe notifications will be sent out a little later today.

Reyfox wrote on 7/29/2024, 8:15 AM

Stateside notifications are already out. I have a friend that bought the 2 for 1 and is waiting for the serial number.

Also, the user forum has been very problematic. Slow, very slow, then ok.

Have also not gotten my vp22 serial number yet on my 2-for-1 purchase. As I recall when it was offered last for v19-20, it took about a week after release.

VEGAS-Daniel wrote on 7/29/2024, 10:54 AM

Hey everyone, a quick update on that email of the 2-for-1 deal: The ones for VEGAS Pro 22 should gone out already and the ones for Pro Suite are on their way.

Cannot register Vegas Pro 22.0 using existing subscription serial number that does not expire until January 2025. Vegas Pro 22.0 does not recognize existing subscription and had to install using a TRAIL serial number. Any ideas as to the work-around for this glitch???

Reyfox wrote on 7/29/2024, 12:38 PM

I have subscription with VP21 and got the update notice when I opened VP21. See my post above.

I am in the Central USA, near Chicago and still awaiting the V22 serial number email. It's 12:53 CDT as I write this. I'll report back if / when I receive it. I'm currently running version 19, and bought the 2 for 1 deal. Do I need to upgrade from 19 to V21 before I can install 22?

andyrpsmith wrote on 7/29/2024, 1:48 PM

Oops, I just crashed VP22 (trial version). I added Bitman's dodgy image to the timeline of an existing project to see the image corruption in the pan/crop and also added one of my own jpeg image. After seeing the same result (DPI of 150 has problems) I added Bitman's image to the recycle bin and went back into VP22 which asked what I wanted to do about the missing file, I chose ignore and leave it offline - VP22 then crashed.

Hey Walt, we sent out a batch of keys today to those who bought before the weekend. Everyone who bought during the weekend will receive the keys by tomorrow.
And, nope, you don't have to upgrade from 19 to 21 to install version 22.

Walt-Stagner wrote on 7/29/2024, 4:16 PM

Thanks, Daniel. I like the opening screen of 21. Can't wait to see 22. Thanks.

Can I use my Vegas 13.0 Pro license to be eligible for the upgrade pricing on Vegas 22?

Dexcon wrote on 7/29/2024, 7:46 PM

@R.Greg  ... Assuming that the VP13 licence hasn't previously been used for an upgrade, it should be able to be used to upgrade to VP22. The best way to find out is to go through the purchase process using the upgrade choice - the purchase system will work out your eligibility for upgrade pricing and let you know before committing you to the purchase.

@Walt-Stagner, at this point, most emails have already gone out. It seems there are some outliers that didn't go out yet, and maybe you are one. If you can wait, give it a few more days for your email to arrive. If you can't wait (and I understand if not!) then please reach out to our customer service team.

Hello all-
I'm also waiting on my Vegas Pro 22 Suite Key (I bought the Pro Post 21 + Pro Suite 22 deal over this last weekend). I've sent a note to support as well. I'm excited to try all the new features and my RTX 4070 Ti Super is thirsty for the new engine improvements.... 😜

@Reyfox

I'm interested in your comparison of the new beat detection in Vegas vs Vegasaur. I watched a short clip on the Vegas site regarding beat detection but it didn't get into much detail. Do you know if Magix transplanted its beat detection module from VPX into Vegas or is this a new build?
