I recently updated Vegas 19 to Version 458 and noticed my Boris Continuum 2021 didn't go with it.. What is the protocol to get it back. A bit troubled with FX not going along with the upgrade. What did I miss?
Presumably. the Boris Continuum plugins are showing as installed under Windows Apps and Features.
BTW, I've only hours ago installed the just released new build of BCC 2022 (version OFX_Hosts_15_0_1) and the BCC and BCC+ VFX appear as they should in Vegas Pro 19's (build 458) Video FX window.
And Merry Christmas as well. Let's hope that Santa's PCR tests are up-to-date otherwise there's going to be a lot of empty Christmas stockings tomorrow 🙂🙂🙂.
Thanks Dex. I tried reinstalling both and my puzzlement continued. I sent a ticket to Boris. Maybe they have an answer. I'm spent. After the holiday we re rack the brain. Have a good night
Check if there are these folders and files in "C:\Program Files\Common Files\OFX\Plugins":
If there are, then close Vegas, try deleting "plugin_manager_cache.bin", "svfx_plugin_cache.bin" and "FX Thumbnails" in "C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\VEGAS Pro\19.0", then start Vegas to see if boris come back.
No luck there, lan-mLMC, but thank you. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both programs, but there is a bottleneck there somewhere. Maybe two monkeys fighting for the same space???
Yes, Ian, they are in the common files folder. I have a ticket into BorisFX hoping that they can assist. I never had an installation issue with Vegas and Boris. Thanks for the assist.
"Something" happened during the update if Boris was there before it. I too updated and all the Boris FX "stuff" is still there, and working as it should in VP19.

I've just updated Continuum, all seems fine, except recently i've had a few of Boris stuff to crash Vegas or be so unresponsive it's unusable uncontrollable, , Boris or Vegas's fault I Dunno 🤷♂️🙃🤔😂
Funny you mention that Gid. Before I did the Vegas update I had Boris crash the program a time or two when looking to add transitions. I guess I need to call Boris since there has been no or slow response to my ticket.
@Former user which particular Boris FX are problematic with Vegas?

@MikeyDH@Reyfox Hi, I'd have to go through & make a list, it's mostly things like Glows & Looks etc. that slow Vegas beyond usability, these type of fx's need a good quality preview screen to get a true view of how it looks, so having to reduce it to Preview - (Auto) to get it to play is rubbish, S_UltraZap i can't add more than a few lines without it becoming unresponsive, (that's the in-built Mocha slowing it) but the worst is after applying S_Transition, then changing the default transition in s_transition to Filmroll, it crashes immediately when played back in the host, other options from the default transition in s_transition drop down work ok, & Filmroll transition works ok when applied on it’s own,
I posted on Boris's forum but no reply, I rarely get a reply or a decent response from them if i mention Vegas.
@Former user sorry, I can't help you with Sapphire. I only have Continuum Complete 2022.
In the Boris forum, they used to answer my questions with the knowledge I was using Vegas. You would think that since Vegas offers their products often enough, they would give the Vegas users some "lip service"....
I have a friend that has VP19 and Boris FX Suite (everything) and he said he will try it tomorrow.

@Reyfox The Sapphire stuff is a bit more intensive than the BCC stuff, but yeah, i have all of Boris's plugins & standalone stuff so even just an acknowledgement of my posts, just a polite 'we don't know' would be nice, but often not a single mention from Boris,
I think a lot of the Boris team is on holiday till the new yr now
Yes, Boris has replied and I am in the process of correcting the problem. Just a matter of making sure of their directions with their reply. When they say remove items from app data but don't delete I hit a wall with just how to do that.
@MikeyDH the appdata folder is hidden. You can have folders show "hidden" folders/files by going up top to the View and check mark the "Hidden Items" box.
Then you proceed to the file location posted by @lan-mLMC above and follow his directions. I'd create a folder on the desktop and move those items there, and then start Vegas and see what happens.
