I agree. I don't believe they will do a rewrite but possible merge Vegas Pro into Video Pro x or vice versa.
Catalyst totally sucks and for Sony to switch from a permanent license to a subscription model and essentially throw all the suckers who bought Catalyst under
the bus is total b.s..
It seems clear to me that Sony only has their own interests in mind.
I hope Magix can create a NLE that holds up and maybe offers current Vegas users a discounted purchase price. It all depends, I guess, on what Vegas Pro 14 turns out to be. If it isn't any good, then I guess it is Resolve for me.
If you mean Video Pro X does not export MP4, then I can absolutely say that it actually does. I have been using it for 2 years now and almost every project I do requires an MP4 export. VPX actually has quite extensive MP4 export options.
