If I "accidentally" start to open VP, is there a way to stop it from completing, or must I wait the 20-30 seconds for VP to fully load before closing it?
I was hoping for a "keyboard key" solution such as the ESC key.
Here is a USE CASE: I accendatally started VP21 when I really wanted VP23, or VP17, or VP19. I want to hit a key to stop loading. I've lived with this for decades, I can live with it "as is". It was just a wish.

What's the reason to keep the older Vegasversions?
@Rich Parry I know the feeling, it can happen, that is why I have put older VP version "start links" in a dedicated folder on the desktop and keep the current latest VP link (VP23) on the desktop...
I have VP22 and VP23 on the taskbar. In the past, as far as I can remember, each Vegasversion had it's own icon. I don't see a difference between the icons of VP22 and VP23. I have no need to keep older Versions of Vegas or Vegas Movie Studio installed.
@3POINT I have 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 installed on my system. The reason is to test various things in various version as needed. Plus many people on the forum post issues with older versions so it's nice to be able to test in the older version for them as well as indicate differences between the older version and the current version.

@jetdv That's fine for you, Edward, but for an average Vegasuser it makes no sense. I have also allmost all Versions of Vegas (starting at VP7) and Vegas Movie Studio (starting at VMS7) but I want to keep my PC for editing clean. Also sofar all my Vegasprojects made with those earlier versions are still editable with the latest versions of VP.
I do it with task manager using the End Process Tree option. Usually after I forget to connect my usbc work drive on my laptop before starting Vegas... otherwise Vegas removes the project from my recent-edit project list. Be nice if there was a cancel button that let the list be.
Thanks to all that responded. I'm retired, I can live with waiting for VP to complete, just thought I confirm there wasn't a "key" to escape VP loading.
