Yes, right click on the media and "add at project frame rate".

Or you could write a script that changes the playback rate to .5 and makes the event twice as long.

For video, there's also the "Slow Motion" effect which you could set the playback rate to .5 and then click the "Adjust Event Length" button.

Vegas' Slow Motion fx does all of this automatically, using optical flow resampling.

In this example, the border fill fx is applied after Slow Motion to avoid edge distortion.

In addition to the optical flow, a morph transition was used.

Using the Border Fill fx with the transparent image gives an interesting artistic effect.

It's the opener for my tribute video of my brother, who was a retired commercial art director.

Vegas' Slow Motion fx does all of this automatically, using optical flow resampling.

For slowing down of 60fps to 30fps, no resampling is needed. Just when framerate of slomo should stay 60fps, resampling with optical flow is useful.

Hey folks, Thanks for the replies but when I said automatically I mean automatically. As in I drop 200 files on the time line I'd want them all to change to 0.5 playback and double their clip length on the video layer.

Is that possible, if by script is there one available that does this or something close?

Thanks

Rikki

Important is that Project framerate is half of footage framerate, when importing 200 files at projectframerate as described by @RogerS

@djrikki2 If they're all in one folder, navigate to it in the Vegas explorer, select them all (ctrl-A), then rclick and choose Add To Project Media List. Make sure your project is set to the rate you want. Then select them all in Vegas Project Media, rclick, and choose Add at Project Frame Rate... click No when asked if you want to change your project settings to match. You could write a script to do those few steps but it's easy enough the old fashioned way.

Bingo!

I usually grab the files from Windows explorer window and drop them all onto the time line - didnt know about putting them in the Project Media window - thus enabling to select all and then right click and add to time line at a different playback rate.

That is bang on!

Thanks folks - just installed 21 as a trial to see if its a worthy update from 20 as I have a lot of 4k 60 in HEVC to play with from the new DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and 20 doesnt like them too well!

Cheers!
