error messgae when trying to import media files

When I try to import a video file in Vegas 16 I get a message that says "an online connection could not be established" and it will not let me import it. I have used vegas many times offline. I did recently re download the program so i'm not sure if this is a factory setting that needs to be changed. Thank you for your help.

it seems the solution to the problem is when you first download Vegas you need to go through the program while online to make sure everything is registered. Mostly just by doing a quick edit and render. Then you should have availability offline
