Forum Changes - My Account

This morning we launched a new My Account section on the Sony Media Software website. This new area will allow you to view past orders, keep track of serial numbers, see upgrades that you qualify for, and more.

In order to post to these forums, you will need to register for the My Account area. Please note that even users with an existing forum account will need to go through My Account registration.

After entering your email address, you'll receive an email from our website with a link to complete your registration. Enter a new password, answer two questions in case you forget your password, review your personal information, and then review and select your forum settings.

In the forum settings, you'll see some new options. You can now choose to display your real name and system information on your profile page, and allow other users to email you.

We apologize for any inconvenience, and hope that you find the new features worth the additional effort.

MY phone number is incorrect when I placed the order for the upgrade. How can I change it?

I had to reclaim due to a change in my email addy. Had no problem with the V6 download or subsequent email confirmation.

New site is much nicer!

So log in today (May 2) and get a new "I agree" page. I read the first post - and I would have posted this under that thread but it is locked - in any case one of the new rules sort of hit me -

3. Serial Number requirement – New forum registrants will now be required to have a registered Sony Media Software serial number in order to post in the forums.

Now over the last several years I have seen many posts from demo users and pre-sales questions. While I can understand the need for stricter rules considering all the crap thus far in 2005 I must say it does seem like rule 3 is very counter productive to any potential new users.

One suggestion is to add another topic to your main list and entiltle it "General" for anyone who wants to bullcrap.

just testing my old user name, and it seems to have picked it up even though I registered in the new "my account", and didn't recover my old user name.......maybe by now it does it automatically

I have not used the forum for some time. I just started again. I have a new e-mail address which I updated. I followed the instructions and merged the new account with my old one so I could keep the same username. For some reason it does not list any of my software, so I registered one so I could post this. I don't want to have to re-register all of my products since I have several of them. What's the solution?
