In Vegas Pro: Options/Preferences/General and uncheck 'Use Newsfeed to stay informed about VEGAS product updates'.

Or try this if the above doesn't work - Startup tab in Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) then scroll down to Update Notifier - MAGIX and disable.

Already unchecked that and there isnt a notifier program in TM. Even when Vegas is running and pops up the message I cant see one listed in Running programs :S

Even though the update notifier is on my desktop, I just checked and must admit that its not on my laptop with VP16 and 17installed. I was aware of it because it was discussed on the forum about 1 year ago when a similar issue to yours was posted.

Unfortunately, I haven't got any other suggestions.

Uninstall. UDN if it was installed in the first place (Vegas default) It should be listed in the uninstaller.. Revp Uninstall is many folk's go-tp uninstall utility

Uninstalling Update Notifier will not affect Vegas;

I am having the same problem with Vegas Pro 18. Keep getting an update notifier that will not go away. I too unclicked the preference box with no success

So I finally figured out how to stop the update notification after looking around online for ages.

Close Vegas Pro 20 (should work with other versions)

Open "Windows Defender Firewall" and on the left side click "Advanced Settings"

Click "inbound Rules" and click "New Rule"

Select "Program" next

"This Program Path" and enter

%ProgramFiles%\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 20.0\vegas200.exe

Next select "block the connection"

Click next until you can name the rule and click finish.

Do the exact same thing to "Outbound Rules"

Open vegas and the notification shouldnt pop up

Better approach in this thread less likely to lead to serial number verification problems... just do it in the vp20 program folder rather than vp19:
