How long to write signpost file using Vegas2Handbrake?

Hi All,

A few weeks ago I set up the Vegas2Handbrake script in VP14 and it's been working great.

Previously the DebugMode Frameserver popped up quite quickly and whipped past the "Writing signpost" dialog almost instantaneously and then moved to opening Handbrake.

But last night when I used it on some new footage, the "Writing signpost..." dialog took quite a long time, maybe 30 seconds for the green bar...like I said, before it was almost instantaneous...

The only difference is that the source file was 1080p/30 fps compared to previous runs with 1080p/60 fps sources. The clip on the timeline is about 10 min long; project settings were set to match the clip...

Is the length of the "Writing Signpost file..." dialog dependent on clip length or what is going on here?

Mine took 19.233 seconds to see the Handbrake splash screen. I'll spare you the video.

Yes, this is dependent on the chip length because the 'vegas.avi' file contains the whole audio track before Handbrake can be started.

Here are the media data of a ~ 20min time line

Audio
ID                             : 1
Format                         : PCM
Format settings, Endianness    : Little
Format settings, Sign          : Signed
Codec ID                       : 1

Channel(s)                     : 2 channels
Sampling rate                  : 44.1 kHz
Bit depth                      : 16 bits
Stream size                    : 207 MiB (99%)
Alignment                      : Aligned on interleaves
Interleave, duration           : 999  ms (29.95 video frames)

By the way. when your source material is on a SSD you will see a remarkable speed difference to the HDD source.
