Howdy! Quick question, how do I import video files from the Canon XF605? The usual Device Explorer way doesn't work and I really need to import and stitch together long video files that are separated into 4GB chunks. Thanks.
john_dennis sorry I didn't include the info on my previous post. Anyway I'm on Vegas Pro 17 and I'm trying to import long mp4 files from the Canon XF605 camcorder.
diverG I downloaded the MP4 Join Tool from Canon's website and it seems to do the trick. I browsed though the XF605's manual and there's nothing about importing files. Anyway the problem is solved and I thank you all for the time and trouble to answer my question 😁😁🙏🙏
@Soon_King The only mp4 formats the xf605 shoots are hevc 422 and 420 10-bit as well as avc 420 8-bit. Vp17 can handle them all with or without joining... but when I shoot multicam, I join them to minimize splits on other tracks. Generally, 420 color is easier to edit and avc is better if your gpu is less powerful. Not sure if vp17 will handle the xavc option but I'd recommend staying away from that one anyway.

Glad you got it working!
I join my Osmo Action and GoPro media using FFMPEG for similar reasons that @Howard-Vigorita mentioned -- less splits makes aligning easier (multi-cam workflow) and avoids audio drops at the join-point.
