Imported video shows only black screen

I'm trying to use a video file. Vegas shows his property, I can put it into the timeline, but in the preview window, I see only a black screen. When I render it, the result is the same - black frames.

I'm using the Trial version Vegas Pro 20.0 on Windows 11(64-bit) as Virtual Machine in VirtualBox. I have the same issue also in Sony Vegas Pro 12 on Windows 10.

The video was created on Ubuntu as screencast by the Kazam application:

8 bit predictive 4:4:4 AVC is an odd combination. In the original software can you set it to High 4:2:0? While you're at it limit the keyframe interval length to keyint=25 instead of 250 for better performance.

If you can't do that try a re-encode with ShutterEncoder or Handbrake to a more standard AVC 8-bit high profile 4:2:0 or if there's real 4:4:4 detail, re-encode to ProRes?

I don't know much about codecs. I will check the options or settings, a newer version or another sw for the screencast. I appreciate the help.

@Samuel-L
And here are a few settings that Vegas Pro handles well.
