How do people with the VP23 feel about the add-on content with the Suite edition? Would you say that the SFX library and the VST's are worth the extra $50? I've been upgrading since vp19 and can't say I've used either software more than a handful of times since so their inclusion do not carry all that much weight personally.

I feel like the SFX library isn't Mandatory, although however, it is nice to have if you ever decide, you want the Sounds from the Sound Library.

With the Suite, you also get Soundforge 18, Acid Pro 11, Vintage Effects Suite, and Studio Box Mark II Complete. That is a lot of additional software for $50. BUT.... if you do not use or need them, there is also the added HUB amount you can download and I believe with Suite, 4K.

Now, it is up to you to decide if it is worth it to "you". It might not be, but to someone else, it would be a bargain.

Anyone know if 23 is compatible with HUI and MCU protocols? 16 worked with my old Mackie controller, 23 doesn't.

Download the trial version and see?

I just got the new Nikon ZR. V23 doesn't seem to import the R3Dne files correctly...only the audio part. Has anyone successfully imported that file extension?

Reyfox wrote on 11/27/2025, 12:50 PM

@Carlo-Zanella without an actual sample video, there is no way to know. I know I do not have a Nikon ZR camera.

Upload a native sample to the cloud so others (and maybe developers) could try out the footage.

I don't think VEGAS has been updated to support this format. Keep an eye on the release notes.

editeiro wrote on 12/1/2025, 2:18 PM

@Reyfox I have the same issue

Here in the website, they have some raw file from RED and ZR to download and compare
https://nij.nikon.com/products/lineup/z_cinema/zr/features01.html?

and a got this raw footage from a filmmaker who made avaliable
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1KsuFZ0089fJh7TSNmqDb6lT955TOAlba

But ZR files are not being imported, here some times show the low memory error, sometimes the Unknow format.

I think there's some issue with these ZR files, because even RedCine X Pro has difficulty transcoding them.

Currently, only DaVinci Resolve handles these files easily, and Premiere (Beta) has many limitations in terms of correctly revealing the log.

If Vegas can fix this as soon as possible, it will be great to put the software ahead as an option for editors who have this camera.

*Edit: @Carlo-Zanella The Nikon ZR can creates an internal media proxy in MP4 format and retains the RED Log information, so it's an option for editing materials and maintaining color grading in a project up to 4K resolution.

@editeiro sorry for the delay in answering. Lots of work leaving me exhausted when I get home.

I downloaded the ZR file with the .R3D extension, and no, it did not load into VP23.

I think the only raw formats vp23 reads is Braw which seems unfinished. And ProresRaw which is beta. Doesn't even read Zraw whose native format is lossless-hevc unless I repackage it with a github app into an mp4.
