Nice to see Mocha Vegas back in the new version which will go some way to offset the extra cost but surely there must be a discount for us existing loyal and very patient users of VP23.
@bonki Thank you. Do we know if the licence for Continuum 2026 included with the perpetual licence of VEGAS Pro is also perpetual?
I don't know, I would assume so but who knows. Boris generally offerse perpetual licences of their products (without updates) so I wouldn't be surprised if it was but also wouldn't be surprised either if it wasn't. I can't wait for an official statement/announcement! :3
>Boris generally offer perpetual licences of their products (without updates) They do provide updates with perpetual licences, and that includes upgrading to new major versions - but ONLY within the first year of purchasing the perpetual licence.
That is at least the way it has always worked for my copies of Continuum and Mocha Pro.
Boris generally offer perpetual licences of their products (without updates) ...
In the case of BCC suite and Mocha Pro, perpetual licenses have for a long time come with a 12 month support and upgrade arrangement that is in place for the 12 months period after purchase and as well for the following 12 months after the expiry of the previous period if the support and upgrade arrangement is renewed within that period - and now perhaps within 30 days after the renewal period has expired and then renewed as has just been implemented - though with the last point I can't really be sure at the moment.
Can't help feeling that there will be some members, perhaps all, of the Vegas team that will be ... disappointed ... that this news has leaked out this way, instead of as part of a triumphal announcement.

Do you really think so? 🤣
Well, that’s up to you. We’ll be waiting for all of you on the other side — can’t wait to see you there!
Just to be clear, I am not talking about Vegas users. As a user I'm happy to see this move; I've been a long time fan of BorisFX and have even suggested on several occasions in the past that Vegas should try and work more closely with BorisFX. And when Mocha Vegas appeared I thought that might be the beginning of something great. Which was why it was disappointing when it was removed. This latest development is therefore good to see - and makes a lot of sense.
But if I was part of the Vegas development team, forced to keep quiet over the last few months about what was happening in the background, and biting their lips when various accusations of going into hiding (I summarise) or being on the brink of closure, I would have been looking forward to making an official announcement of excellent news supported by a full package of answers to the inevitable questions (how are we going to support version 23 users in transitioning, which package might we transfer on to, how are people who already own any of the Boris addons going to be handled, will any v23 node-locked OFX tools originally bundled with v23 work in Boris Vegas Pro 2026? etc etc). I'd like to have broken the news, rather than finding out everyone already knows about it.
Just one question... Purchasing New Boris FX Vegas Pro Annual Subscription Right Now.. is OK or i should wait for any announcement. Bcoz... Boris's Annual Subscription is Cheaper than subscription of VEGAS's website.

I would wait. We still don't know what is for the people who bought the latest version of Vegas Pro. I like the changes that they did but before I get it I want to be sure about our magix versions and if we get "something".

please guide me..
Thanks in advance.
@iEmby It could be that it is cheaper, however be careful as not to compare apples with oranges, Vegas 23 original subscription has the HUB, story blocks and stuff like text to speech (Microsoft Azure) etc. which has a cost... You could pay for this AI stuff separately (there are plenty of 3dth party companies offering TTS, contend etc.. So if this is missing in Boris, you have to account for this as well to compare...
From BorisFX: Will there continue to be free patches or bug fixes for older versions? For versions of Vegas Pro, Sound Forge, and Acid Pro released prior to the 2026 Boris FX versions, any patches, updates, or bug fixes would need to be provided by MAGIX. Development is now focused on the new Boris FX versions, where all future updates, improvements, and fixes will be delivered.
So, just to clarify - if I have an existing BorisFX account, rather than creating a new one, will my licence details get automatically carried across? Or should I be asking this kind of thing in the Boris forums now?
Also, is there any timeline for when we will get (assuming eligible) access to the free crossgrade?
It's also a little unclear how BorisFX licences for those products included in the new Vegas Pro bundles will be handled (eg I already have Continuum and Mocha Pro OFX) - but that's definitely a Boris issue, rather than Magix
