@MikeS I too have a Boris FX account. I went HERE to update to the Boris Vegas account.

Go HERE and read in #2, Do I need to create a Boris FX account? There is the link there that will take you to where you can create an account. I was asked if I already had a Boris account and entered in the info, then clicked on the blue SUBMIT button. I still haven't received my email notification yet to verify the account.

Like people bought VP23 won't get their patches and updates? or it mean we have to go on @Reyfox link and that update our VP23 into BORISFX VP 2026 ?

Good question about updates. For sure, I would not expect anything coming from Magix. I guess we have to wait and see.

I updated my Boris login on the Vegas update page. Just waiting to get the verification email.

Sure, I read both of those, but neither of them say the upgrade will be free for perpetual licencees, unlike the very explicit statement above quoted from Sassylola concerning 365 licencees.

Now I suspect perpetual licence holders will be treated properly, but it is currently unclear what that will actually entail.

Well aware of that, and it makes sense for older versions of Vegas Pro. However it leaves purchasers of a perpetual licence for Vegas Pro 23 hanging.

I don't think anything is hanging right now. The FAQ is quite clear: paid upgrade to the Boris version, patches and updates for any MAGIX version depend on MAGIX.

A different thing is whether we like it or not. I would prefer a free upgrade for those of us who purchased VP23. Or at least a patch to fix it.

But there has not been an official announcement that I'm aware of, so there's still hope.

Not true. It states in the FAQ "Eligible customers will be offered a free crossgrade"

The question at this stage is what are Boris considering as eligible, which I am sure they will clarify.

@paul-marshall Dark mode has become the trend chosen by most users, as it helps reduce eye strain. We need to adapt to this.

@paul-marshall @Fu-Ji Maybe there's a way of changing it to a white background with black or dark grey text. I haven't looked yet.

I find black backgrounds more likely to give me eyestrain than white. Also with white you can reduce your monitors brightness.

@EricLNZ For me, a white background emits a great deal of radiation, so I always prefer dark mode, whether on my phone or computer.
