Great post, and a lot of great work! I enjoyed reading this. A video I created with VEGAS Pro some time ago I like to share with you. It was a project for Google Creative Works that teamed up with Arla for a great campagne. I created this case video.
Some colouring has been done in Magic Bullet Looks ofx plugin, but mostly in VEGAS. For the audiomixing I used the VST3 plugins from Izotope directly in the VEGAS timeline. All cropping, stabilizing and motion tracking was done within VEGAS. I use VEGAS ever since version 1.2b and never missed a version. For my work these days I have to work with other softwares, but VEGAS is comming back (again!)
Here's a video I made two years ago to accompany a peculiar little song released by Detronics, a songwriting and recording partnership of which I am one half. The video was edited, composited and graded entirely within Vegas 21, although some of the animated clips were created using Cinema 4D (eg the half man/half stag sequences at the end, and some of the starling murmuration scenes). Footage was captured on a Panasonic GH5 and with a Mavic Pro drone. Other material from various stock sources.
