Terrible performance for editing video in Vegas 15

I recently upgraded to Vegas 15. I am most dissapointed in the performance of this program. I have contacted support on 2 occasions and they have replied but with no suggestions. Apparantly they can not reproduce my problem which I highly doubt.

I have read other peoples dismay for the same problem I am facing. I recently ugraded my system so that I would get better performance in my editing. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB CPU Ryzen 7 1700 MSI motherboard B350 overclocked to 4Gig.

My issue is that I cannot see my transitions from one clip to another. It jumps and freezes frames. How can an editor edit a movie in these conditions. Why am I paying for a product that is in Beta form.

I have tried to do the fix which seems to be popular. Disabling so4compoundplug.dll. This fixes the editing experience however the program crashes every 30 seconds, which means I have to save my work every 10 seconds.

I also have tried the obvious things such as reducing resolution in the monitor window and have tried all sorts of sizes with no difference to the performance issues. I use Dji Files, Go pro files, and Sony A7S as my source data.

Since Vegas 14 doesn't display this problem, I am forced to work with it again. No problems I suppose other than disappointment.

Is there a fix schduled for this very soon, or how can I get my money back

@joel-crawford Besides what Kinvermark said, it's always worth working through these tips for smooth playback in case something helps.

Then there's a possibility that one or more of the internal preference tweaks in this comment and the comment 2 below it might help. If they don't help then reset them to defaults, as they may cause other instability.

Also note the forthcoming VP15 update which might help.

What exact format of GH5 footage are you shooting? For some or all formats it might not actually matter to VP15 if it's MOV or MP4 since they get decoded by the same codec.
