V16 crashes at use of 4K video footage in Trimmer

Vegas loading, seems to work even in trimmer. Vegas does not seem to create proxys for Mavic MP4 files though, while it does with Iphone mov files. Then put MP4 Mavic clip to render..instant freeze
Trying to render an mov part, freezes within the first seconds.

Plus after the second crash Vegas won´t start and comes back with error 59, no license...so install it anew now...

Installed anew. Started same project. Freezes by simply starting rendering without even asking/shwoing settings etc.

Did you build this computer yourself? If a system builder built it then I think you need to get them involved.

walter-born wrote on 11/2/2018, 4:24 AM

No; I am just trying to make it work. Since I know now that the system builder put the RAM in the worng place and most probably the graphics card as well(on which I await the opinion here prior to moving it), what would I expect from the "builder"?

@walter-born If the slot above the GPU is slot 1, I haven’t looked at the manual yet, then yes, the card is in the wrong slot. I also see a blue protective film that seems to be on a card or another component?

Ultimately, a refund.

Refund? Not really. Those guys charged me 35 EUR, so...
Moved the graphics, connected with the Display cable. Now testing.

It seems to me that as soon as you “stress” the system it fails. Would you mind downloading and installing the latest Cinebench software and testing your austen with it? It is a good benchmark/test tool as it comes close to what a NLE like Vegas requires from the system.

As soon as I am ready reinstalling the mainboard software, which, as it looks, had not been touched at all. Wonder how it worked as it worked.

my Computer also froze from time to time, Rendering in vegas randomly froze or made the Computer reboot. well, i bought "faster" ram and with that the stability Problems started. went to the corsair Forum, they were helpful, but didn't fully fix the Problem. i worked a full week to make it stable and still with good Timings running memtest. now all is good. my last Video 24min (out of 200gb files). run memtest over night, NO error is allowed!

i wasn't able to run the ram at max Speed with Maximum supported Ram size (32gb).

i have DDR3 2133mhz Ram, with increased Volt and other Timing optimizations i got it stable at 1866mhz. but better Timings. memtest is your friend.

let it run 6-7h, if 0 Errors then your pc is stable and the Problem is somewhere else.

walter-born wrote on 11/2/2018, 10:15 AM

Why would that need so much time. Right now its at 32% after 31 minutes.

it Needs time, sometimes the Errors occur in the 2nd pass. i always had the Errors around the same %. in the meantime you can post what ram it is, exact specs to see what Settings it Needs.

just had a look in your sig, let me search the Settings..

G.Skill has a RAM configurations and unless I selected the wrong board, the Sniper X is not AMD certified?

This is the exact RAM

trying to find the up to date compatibility list

No error so far after 14 hours memtest.
Board is RAm compatible at least:
https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X399-GAMING-PRO-CARBON-AC#support-mem-17
And board is compatible to Processor as well it seems:
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-ryzen-threadripper-2950x-2990wx-cpu,5797.html

So why would the RAM than not be compatible with processor? Did not find a newer AMD list than 2017, so then the 2950x didn´t exist...exists only since 2 month or so.

Have to check how to install the corect provided bios though from the above AMD Link or check wether it is installed. Still have to wait until memtest finishes...

ok, then the ram runs fine.

freezes come often when the cpu Overheats. is it only vegas what freezes or do you have other programs that make such Problems too?
