Was just a question to limit the possibility of errors.
The fact that you first have to convert it with Handbrake would be an indication that the file is a bit difficult.But if you don't want to investigate further ......

There are also files that work in VP17 and not in VP18, as @Marco. found out:

Everything ok, only you are about red files and I have just mp4 only from this camera other mp4 work. However, my problem is that the files from the DJA Osmo Action cameras work on the same computer in vegas pro 15-17 and vegas 18 no longer.

It's not just RED files people are having problems with. If you haven't contacted support yet including mediainfo for the file types that no longer work, please do so. We can help them get to a solution.

I've already done it, the claim that everything is ok with them opens. Well, for me it also opens at 17, but no longer at 18, hehe

If you can also post MediaInfo for files that fail (and even better, include a link to a few seconds of footage) in the forum, some of the better connected people here can help support the investigation.

Well...I have the same starting problem. Gets to the first screen and stops. I've had Vegas from v6 and this is the first time this has occurred. v17 starts and runs ok. I downloaded when v18 first came out but could not get it going. I have just uninstalled, and downloaded .334 but it still won't start. Have sent numerous 'Problem Reports' to Magix...just sent another one...but nothing ever seems to happen as a result of these. At least, I haven't been helped in any way...

Do not count on help by sending a report, it is a hack. They have never answered me yet

Please stop spreading nonsense. The Vegas Pro error report system is a well working and important part of bug tracking. It is helpful to additionally add a detailed description of the steps to repro the issue.
