vegas for ipad?

Sergey-Melekhov wrote on 7/27/2022, 5:10 AM

Hello! is it planned to develop vegas for ipad? given the capabilities of modern iPads and their mobility. This would be a success, since there are no worthy programs for editing on ipad. Or a utility that makes it possible to disassemble the material with the subsequent continuation of work on the computer. Sorry for my English))

Agreed. There have been a few questions on the forum over the years about whether Vegas Pro will ever get a Mac OS version, and the response from the Vegas team has been that there were no plans in place to do so. I would think that if there were to be any Vegas Pro version for an Apple product, it would be for Mac OS rather than for iPad whose OS is, I believe, based on Apple's phone OS.

This is a promising market. The iPad is about as powerful as a computer. This is the future. they could skip the moment with computers and focus on new technologies. have the opportunity to at least initially work with the material. with the continuation of the project on the computer. And again, sorry for my English))

It could be worthwhile asking Apple if they are planning on releasing a Final Cut Pro version for iPad since Final Cut Pro is well and truly in the Apple family of OSs.

While this is now a deprecated feature, there was an app for controlling VEGAS from an iPad.

Luma Fusion dominate iPad & iPhone as mobile NLE.

Plus FCPX wasn't made yesterday, so putting a program that is well engineered around iMac/Macbook/Dekstop on a portable, touchscreen device like iPad/iPhone is pointless.

Luma Fusion is pretty powerful. I've seen a production house fully utilize the program on set to create quick edit for director, client and agency preview. It can do all sort of fancy stuff as u would normally do in regular NLE like Premiere Pro, FCPX, VEGAS Pro or Resolve.

You can manage file, do editing, masking, keyframing, motion graphics and it even support LOG footage from Sony, Panasonic, Canon & etc. Which is pretty powerful.

I've previously suggested to create similar program for smartphones/tablets (both iOS & android), but I don't think it will ever happen...well for now.

I want to work on a project on an ipad with the continuation of video editing on a computer. to do this, I would like to have vegas on the ipad. or something that will open in vegas. projects in luma are almost impossible to open in vegas) Vegas has every chance to conquer this free market

There are several other well-known and highly-regarded professional NLEs that already offer NLE's for Apple OSs (Mac OS) as well as Windows. Please ask yourself the question as to why none of those brands have offered an iPad option? Yet your expectation is that Vegas Pro - which at this time has not developed a brand new version for any of Apple's OSs - to cater for a market that to date even other professional NLE's with a long history in the Apple family have not as yet ventured into. For Apple OS friendly brands, perhaps it's because they can't see a business case for entering that market. Maybe the purchase/subscription costs would be too high to attract a sustainable client base. Would you be willing to pay Premiere Pro subscription prices to edit on an iPad?

Sorry, but expecting Vegas Pro to develop a completely new NLE especially for iPad is a pipe dream.

If you are specifically wanting Vegas Pro on a small device, a much simpler approach would be to buy a Microsoft Surface and install Vegas Pro on that unit.

@Sergey-Melekhov Ha, ha, a better question might be, "When will we see Vegas or Bootcamp for the ipad." As Gina said, "Maybe later, maybe never."

Do not have any ios devices myself but a better bet might be to try TeamViewer for ipad or iphone to hit a windows machine. Fwiw, I regularly use remote desktop on my Windows laptop to wirelessly run Vegas on bigger, more powerful machines from my backyard.

"Vegas has every chance to conquer this free market"

Nonsense. The market for "video editors" is so crowded these days when everyone on the planet is a "content creator" or an "App Developer" that Vegas Pro doesn't even show in a PC Mag list of the top ten in the PC market.

Does anyone remember the payola scandals of the late 1950s?

Full Disclosure

I own an iPad and use it everyday.

I will never use it to edit a serious video.

I use it to RDP into one Windows systems on occasion.

I sometimes use a laptop to edit via RDP on a more capable machine.

I'm licensed to run eleven versions of Vegas Pro.

only Luma Fusion, which is used by everyone. there is no competition. I would be happy to be able to edit more serious videos on the iPad
